  We felt very comfortable in Ólöf’s and Hilmar’s house; it is an extraordinary and beautiful house with all its amenities. Our hosts organised everything with a lot of care and also offered the use of their car. I am very grateful for everything. Also, I was very lucky to meet them in person and hope to see them again some day, somewhere in the future. Wir haben uns in Ólöfs und Hilmars Haus sehr wohl gefühlt, es ist ein außergewöhnliches, wunderschönes Haus, mit allen Annehmlichkeiten. Unsere Gastgeber haben alles sehr fürsorglich organisiert und uns auch ihr Auto bereitgestellt. Ich danke für alles sehr. Und ich freue mich auch unsere Gastgeber persönlich kennengelernt zu haben, und auch auf ein Wiedersehen irgendwann, irgendwo.

• Great exchange to be in Reykjavík

  We loved Ólöf and Hilmar's house. Its warm atmosphere, sprinkled with Ólöf's watercolours and furniture of different styles, was frankly welcoming. It is not far from the city centre, although you have to walk a bit to find a well-stocked supermarket and to see most of the city's attractions, which are actually very accessible on foot. Reykjavík is quite thoroughly seen in a week, but you can find small pearls, especially for art lovers. In terms of nature and scenery, it is a good idea to rent a car so that you can visit some incredible places, most of which are less than an hour away from the house. If we went back to Reykjavík we would love to go back to Ólöf and Hilmar's house.

  Due to a sickness our exchange partners could not fly to Germany. Nevertheless they let us live in their beautiful home close to the centre of Reykjavik and even let us have their car! We had 2 wonderful weeks on Iceland and in addition found two friends. Hope to see them again in Germany and spoil them as they did us.
