Beschrijving van het huis dat wij aanbieden voor ruil

House in the village of Borkenes, Northern Norway. Close to Harstad (small town), Vesteralen and Lofoten. Beautiful rural area. Good location for walks, skiing and travelling in the area.

Beschrijving van onze buurt en omgeving

Quiet (albeit not particularly posh) neighbourhood in wooded hill area, but also close to the sea, where I have an old boathouse. (My little wooden boat is currently in desperate need of repairs, though, and cannot be used). There are a couple of shops in the village, but for larger shops, cafés and restaurants you need to go to Harstad (20 km). 30 min drive to the ferry to Vesteralen, on the way to Lofoten. Very nice area for beautiful walks. This part of Borkenes /Trastad) has a special history as there used to be a large institution here (for mentally disabled people) from the fifties onwards. There is a small museum of the art ("Outsider Art") produced by the residents.

Onze tips voor leuke activiteiten en uitjes bij ons in de buurt

Nature is the main attraction in the area. The sea, mountains, hills. Nupen (best view of the midnight sun). Aurora search. Museum (Trastad) and Hemmestad brygge. Most other cultural attractions are 20 km away, in the nearest town of Harstad: Trondenes church, Trondenes historical center and museum.
