We live in the Eastern Styria, which is also called Styria´s “garden”, because of the many orchards and vineyards. Styrias capital, Graz, is about 35km´s away. Our house is situated on the edge of a little village.

Our house is built in a modern open style and it offers every modern convenience:
On the ground floor there is a big living room with an integrated kitchen and dining table. From here you have a great few of the fields, the forest and the Kulm, which is the highest hill (976m) of the hill land. From the living room, you come to the two terraces (morning and evening terrace), as well as into the garden. There is also a seperate WC on the ground floor. On the top floor there is the bath room with integrated WC, the children´s and the parent´s bedroom. The entrance, the laundry and the garage are in the cellar.

The next village is 3 km far away. Here you can find a perfect infrastructure: 
4 Supermarkets, doctor´s, bakery, butcher´s shop, pharmacy, public bus, public outdoor swimming pool, public place for street soccer and skating.

Surrounding: 
In the immediate vicinity there are a lot of Buschenschanken, wine taverns, which serve own wine and regional specialities. There are also horse farms and a lot of cycling routes and hiking trails.
 
About 10 km away there is palace Herberstein, which is 700 years old. Various species of rose can be admired in the historic gardens. In the herberstein animal park you can see a lot of animals from all over the wold (especially from africa!). Younger children like as well the petting zoo. Next to Herberstein you can visit the Stubenberg See (lake) for swimming.
 
Another highlight of the countryside is the Teichalm, Europe´s largest continuously farmed mountain pasture. The distance from our house is about 40 km. In this area there are also the Bärenschützklamm and stalactite caves.
 
From the Riegersburg, which is situated on a vulcano rock, you have a great view over the soft hills of Eastern Styria. Unconquered for centuries, the Riegersburg is still today a remarkable fortress. You can “conquer” the castle, climbing up the footpath through the seven archways or you can use the lift at the north of the castle. Next to  Riegersburg you can visit the exquisite chocolate manufacture Zotter, which produces fair chocolate – very good! Only 30 km from our house.
 
Graz is the region´s capital and the second greatest town in Austria. The old town is very nice. It´s the town of the red roofs and of the clock tower with its varied history. There are a lot of barock buildings and  idyllic courtyards. But there are also futuristic buildings, such as the Kunsthaus gallery on the River Mur and the Murinsel (Mur Snail), the steel café in the middle of Styria´s main river. In Graz you can find a wide range of cultural supplies. Graz´s local mountain, the Schöckl, has an almost Alpine character. Distance from our house: about 35 km.
 
Not far from our house (20 – 35 km) there are the Styrian Spa´s. Hot springs bubble up from the earth with full force in Bad Waltersdorf (the nearest), Sebersdorf (for children!), Bad Blumau (exquisite) and Loipersdorf (very good for children!!!). Here you can relax at rainy days. 
 
For daytrips you can go to Vienna (150 km), Slowenia (60 km) or Hungary (45 km).
