  We had a warm welcome from Ingo's daughter despite our delayed arrival. The apartment is in an lovely old building with communal gardens in an interesting area near Tempelhof field with excellent communications to all parts of the city.

• A cosy flat in a vibrant district

  Ingo's flat is in a very 'happening' part of Berlin, with a distinct buzz close to the brilliant Tempelhofer Feld (once Berlin's biggest airport now the largest inner city park in the world). We ran, walked and watched the wildlife most days at this brilliant community space. Berlin was still as brilliant as I remembered it 10 years ago, nearly as brilliant as London!
