Our region is known for cycling. There is a hiking trail passing our house, which leads to a tree top walk. There's a riding stable in the neighbouring village. With the train it takes around 30 minutes to get to next big city St. Gallen. And with the Stiftsbibliothek, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it is definitely worth a visit. Another excursion (including a hike) that I highly recommend is a visit to the idyllic Seealpsee in the middle of the Appenzell mountains. There are also three big lakes, which you can reach within a train ride of approx. 45 minutes! (Zürichsee, Bodensee, Walensee) We also recommend a trip to a very impressive, beautiful mountain range, the so-called Churfirsten. You can even take a gondola lift up to one of the mountains and have something to eat in the mountain restaurant. Of course, you can also climb the mountains via a mountain hiking trail. There's a fitness center right down the street.
