We are inviting you to our cozy and beloved home in a calm but lively suburb of Munich.

The apartment has two bedrooms, one larger bathroom with bathing tub and a washer/dryer, and a smaller bathroom with shower, as well as a South-facing balcony. Our kitchen may be on the smaller side, but you will find that our love for cooking and exploring other cultures through food could not be bigger! The living room has a large wooden dining table around which the whole family can gather to share food, drink and laughter. With my children having lived and studied around the world, the decoration of our home is a lovely combination of memories from these places.

Our home is located between Munich and Munich airport with superb transportation links. The S-Bahn (local train) station is 5 walking minutes away and gets you to the airport in 13 minutes and to the city centre in 25 minutes. There is a self-serve rental bike station just across our apartment, with other locations all throughout Munich.

All types of daily goods stores are within walking distance, including a selection of supermarkets and an organic market. We frequently shop produce, eggs and dairy products from a local family whose self-serve farm shop you can reach in 15 walking minutes, or 2 minutes by car.

Ismaning is a popular, well-maintained and safe area that boasts excellent public amenities. All in walking distance are: parks, walking paths, playgrounds, a small art museum, and a beautiful public library that is accessible to all (and has a small English language section). There are plenty of local and international eateries for all budgets, let alone the culinary adventures Munich has to offer. Ismaning is famous for its white cabbage (Kraut), so make sure to try some while you’re here!

This area is ideal for cycling and hiking - you can even get to the Bavarian alps within one car hour, and less than two hours by train! I am an active rower and hold a membership at the Olympian regatta in nearby Oberschleissheim. If interested, you are welcome to join my rowing colleagues. There are also plenty of lakes nearby. They are called Feringasee, Starnberger See, and Aemmersee. All of these are accessible by public transport (Feringasee even by bike) and offer opportunities for both water sports and leisurely days at the lake.

If we are swapping not just homes but also cars, you will be able to use my Audi A3 Diesel sportback. Regardless of car swap there are two private parking lots available to you, one outdoors and one indoors. There is also an abundance of safe on-street parking.
