This home exchange was fantastic. Monique and Peter were very easy to deal with and very nice. Their apartment was amazing, beside the beach, town and train station. There is nothing that I would change about this swap. Making arrangements for the swap was so easy and the apartment keys had been left with a neighbour who was very welcoming. There is lots to do in Zandvoort, swimming, walking on the beautiful beach and cycling in the sands dunes of the nature reserve. Haarlam is only 10 minutes by train and is such a special city. There are lots of historical and cultural sights to see along with plenty of restaurants, local breweries and shops! Zandvoort is a great base from where you can easily travel around the Netherlands. I could keep going about all of the great things to do and see in Zandvoort and The Netherlands but you need to go and see for yourself! A great swap.

This is a lovely small apartment located right next to the train station. It is easy to go anywhere in the area from there, only 30 minutes to Amsterdam. And it is quiet because it is the end of the train line and there is no street noise. It would be fine to spend time in Zandvoort with shopping and good restaurants. The national park nearby is great for hiking and biking. And the beach is right there. It is a very comfortable and clean place. My favorite spot was the balcony where I could bask in the sun and enjoy the view.

Voor de 2e keer hebben we in het huis van Monique en Peter gebivakkeerd. En ook nu was het weer heerlijk om daar te zijn. Een praktisch huis, voorzien van alles wat je nodig hebt in een vakantie. Een fijn bed en een heerlijke douche. Ook was het fijn op het balkon te kunnen zitten en te genieten van het zonnetje. We hebben iedere dag gefietst en langs de zee gewandeld. Het is prachtig in Zandvoort en omgeving. Voor ons een totaal andere omgeving en daardoor zo aantrekkelijk. Op de fiets naar Noordwijk of IJmuiden, door de prachtige Kennemer Duinen. Haarlem, prachtige stad, is ook binnen een half uurtje te fietsen. We zijn met de trein een dagje naar Amsterdam geweest, kortom wij hebben het heel erg naar onze zin gehad. Peter en Monique hadden alles weer goed voor elkaar. Het huis zag er netjes uit en er was gezorgd voor eten en wat lekkers bij de koffie. Halverwege de week werden we zelfs nog per post met een pakje verrast. Heel erg bedankt Peter en Monique voor alles!

Wir haben uns bei Monique und Peter schönem Zuhause sehr wohl gefühlt. Die beiden haben sich wirklich gut um uns gekümmert. Es war alles vorhanden was wir brauchten. Frühstücken konnten wir in der Küche an der Esstheke mit Ausblick auf das Wohngebiet. Ganz häufig haben wir den gemütlichen, liebevoll begrünten Balkon genutzt. Die Bahn ist kaum zu hören, dafür interessant die ein-und ausfahrenden Züge und Menschen zu sehen. Wie praktisch den Bahnanschluss direkt vor der Tür zu haben. So waren wir schnell in Amsterdam für einen Tagesbesuch. Vom Haus ist alles gut zu Fuß zu erreichen im Ort. D.h. unser Auto hatte ebenfalls einen ausgiebigen Urlaub :-) In ein paar Minuten waren wir am Strand; den wir natürlich jeden Tag besucht haben.

Das gemütlich und nett eingerichtete Appartment befindet sich in einem Mehrparteienhaus nur fünf Minuten vom Strand. Auf dem schönen und praktischen Balkon konnten wir bei bestem Spätsommerwetter alle Mahlzeiten in herrlicher Ruhe genießen. Lebensmittelgeschäfte und Restaurants waren fußläufig zu erreichen, ebenso wie die Freizeitmöglichkeiten Schwimmen, Joggen, Spazierengehen und Radfahren. Super gefiel uns, dass man bereits vor dem Frühstück im Meer baden konnte. In der wunderschöne Dünenlandschaft der Umgebung sahen wir friedlich grasende Hirsche, Koniks und Rinder. Städte wie Haarlem und Amsterdam waren sehr nette Ausflugziele. Wir möchten uns ganz herzlich bei Monique und Peter für ihre große Gastfreundschaft bedanken! Es ist spricht wirklich für sie, dass sie in ca. 20 Jahrten schon über 70 Mal erfolgreich Haustausch gemacht haben.

Het appartement van Monique en Peter is knus ingericht en van alle gemakken voorzien. Je voelt je er meteen thuis! De ideale ligging ten opzichte van het strand en de duinen zorgen voor veel wandel- en fietsplezier. Voor een bezoek aan steden als Haarlem en Amsterdam vertrekt er elk half uur een trein op korte loopafstand van de woning. Zoek je rust en vertier, dan zijn beide snel te vinden. Het appartement is ruim van opzet, doordat het uit 2 verdiepingen bestaat. Buiten op het balkon kijk je tegen de zijkant van het monumentale stationsgebouw aan. Het formule 1 circuit ligt slechts op 1 km lopen. Al met al de moeite waard! Bovendien, Peter en Monique zijn bijzonder prettige mensen.

Het appartement heeft alle noodzakelijke voorzieningen, het is aangenaam en mooi aangekleed. Het ligt minder dan 200 meter van het station en 500 meter van het strand. Het ligt in een rustige buurt. Je hebt er geen geluidsoverlast van verkeer of trein. Ideaal voor een vakantie!!! Hartelijk dank dat we hier mochten verblijven. Vriendelijke groeten, Reinie en Peter.

We had the most wonderful month in Monique and Peter’s apartment. Very cosy and comfortable and in a superb location in a lovely seaside village. Monique and Peter went to a lot of effort to make our stay a truly memorable one. Many thanks to you both.

Thank you Peter and Monique for the fantastic week that we were allowed to experience in Zandvoort. The cozy apartment was ideally located to make bike trips in nature or the nearby villages. The weather was very warm and sunny to go to the beach with a good book. The train is an excellent means of transport located near the apartment to visit Amsterdam. We really enjoyed our time with Monique and Peter before the exchange and their home and area for an exchange. They were very easy to communicate with. Everything was exactly as describe by them in their instruction book. They are long time exchangers who know how to give an exchange family a warm welcome. They left our home in great shape!
