• Just Lovely !

  Claire’s cottage is just lovely. Claire has a great eye for colour and the cottage is well decorated and comfortably furnished. We felt right at home. Claire left us some foodie treats and we found a local supermarket close by to stock up. We slept really well, the bed is wonderfully comfortable and the kitchen is well equipped for home dining. We thoroughly enjoyed visits out to Eyam, Chatsworth House, to Bakewell and to the David Mellor museum and cafe. The countryside is quite beautiful, and we found parking off the main road easily. Claire checked in that we were okay but wasn’t in the least bit intrusive, and we found everything in the cottage very easy to use. It was a lovely few days away and we have come back to York with some very happy memories - thank you :)

• Beautiful home & garden near city/countryside

  We had a wonderful holiday in Claire and Ivan's beautiful home. All of the communication before, during and after the exchange was so great and we felt so cared for when we arrived at their home. They had left a fabulous meal, presents for our twins whose birthday was coming up, stunning Easter decorations and so many thoughtful touches. We really appreciated the wonderful welcome. Their home was so luxurious that we hardly wanted to leave! Our children enjoyed their large garden which has a trampoline and swing set, as well as all the games and toys that were left out. Claire and Ivan had thoughtfully even left out toys for our much younger children which was greatly appreciated. We enjoyed all their recommendations for local restaurants, our favourite was the Italian restaurant which is a two minute walk away and we loved the food and excellent service there. Our older children enjoyed Alton Towers which is an hour's drive away. We would heartily recommend this beautiful home with such natural hosts and wish Claire and Ivan many more wonderful exchanges in the future. They're great ambassadors for Homelink!

  We loved staying here. Amazing hosts left us and our son some treats. Hte house is very spacious as is the garden. Great base to explore the lovely countryside and area!

  We had a really great time in this very well appointed and spacious home. It was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed; we especially enjoyed admiring the lovely garden from the hot tub! We came to visit family but also enjoyed just being in the house and exploring the local area. The wooded area and children's playground that form part of the estate were a real surprise - it was so well kept and pleasant to walk in the evenings. The Martins looked after our home really well and overall this was an excellent exchange experience.

  We exchanged with Claire and Ivan after both of our original exchanges fell through because of Covid. I'm so glad we did as we've just had a very relaxing 9 days in their large and beautiful home. A lovely family to exchange with who made us feel very welcome. The local area has some stunning countryside and there are plenty of places to visit, countryside walks etc. They looked after our house fantastically well leaving everything spotless and were very kind after we had an incident with one of their ornaments! A lovely family, a beautiful part of England and a great exchange, thank you!

  We had a wonderful stay at Claire and Ivan's house. It was like staying in a 5 star hotel whilst still being in a comfortable family home. The house was so luxurious and there were some wonderful touches like a robe and slippers for the guests to use and chocolates left on the bed. It felt like we were in a posh boutique hotel but yet had all you could hope for in a family home like a large garden, trampoline, swing and slide set, playroom and lots of toys and books for the children to use. Claire and Ivan were so accommodating and exchanging with them was an absolute pleasure. We had a great time visiting family and friends around the area but also managed to visit Belton House, Chatsworth House and Go Ape in Sherwood Pines. Brilliant fun for the whole family. Thanks a million to Claire, Ivan, Sebbi and Reuben for a fabulous stay!
