  • A quiet sanctuary by the river.

A perfect spot for us to stay for a few days. Dale and Peter’s home is small and stylish with everything we needed as well as being a cool oasis on hot days. Loved the outlook to the river, the proximity to the bike path and really appreciated borrowing bikes to explore the area and drop by cafes and beaches. A lovely sanctuary to return to after day tripping to Byron Bay. Excellent communication with Dale.

  • Great exchange 2 years in the making.

A little over 2 years ago we first discussed an exchange but Covid and other issues disrupted plans. We have finally enjoyed our exchange, although Dale and Peter had since moved to the coast into a beautifully renovated home in a caravan park. Their home is in a great location and although they have downsized there was no loss of amenity with the home feeling spacious and perfect for the two of us. Because the property was on the edge of the park with great views to open space and water we felt quite secluded and unaware of the movements in the park. The water was about 30 meters from the home with a walking / cycle path along the water's edge. From the deck or living room a favourite activity was to watch the ever changing colour of the water as the sun set. We enjoyed the walk around the Bay and back along the sea wall and also the walk along the path to the Shelley Beach Cafe. From here the views were spectacular, especially on a stormy day. The lookouts along the coast were impressive, however for us it was the hinterland that made the area special. We visited little villages and explored rainforest areas. Stops at farm gates for fresh produce was an added bonus. Dale and Peter's property was the perfect place for a break with the opportunity to be as busy or as relaxed as we wished. We had excellent communication with Dale which made the whole experience easy. Thank you Dale and Peter.

  • Wake up to views over the valley

A delightful, eco friendly country retreat. We shared Dale and Peter's love of their home filled with many artisan possessions. It was very comfortable. We enjoyed wandering around their lovely gardens with cows hanging their heads over the fence, the mists clearing over the valley, yet within easy reach of the local store. We had some fantastic hikes in the nearby Nightcap N.P. and trips to the pristine white sands near Byron Bay. An excellent place to recharge the batteries. Dale and Peter were great hosts. Many thanks.

  • Great location with fantastic views.

  • A lovely environmentally friendly house.

We enjoyed the pretty semirural setting and the charming countryside and neighbouring villages. Our hosts were very hospitable and provided us with all the information we needed to enjoy the area. We had a lovely relaxing week with perfect weather.

  • We had such a wonderful time in this fantastic house and really enjoyed the area and the stunning countryside. The house is modern and very eco friendly, with a lovely garden and a picture postcard view. The outside sitting and dining area was a lovely place to relax after a day exploring. We would highly recommend this house and hope to have the chance to return sometime.

  • Firt of all we will thank Dale and Peter for contacting us in autumn 2016. I don`t think we would have ended up in Australia at all ! But we have several exchange students there- Adelaide and Brisbane- and that gave us an opportunity to do the long travel. Thanks Dale ! We had a fantastic month in Australia. Driving the Great ocean road. Visiting Kangaroo Island, Adelaide, Barosso, Brisbane and Byron Bay, which is quit near to Bexhill and Lismore where we stayed in their lovely house. We even saw a wallaby in the garden and a snake on the road. You have a beautiful view over the fields where the cows are eating in the morning. We loved that. Dale and I have had so much writing together and we are very sad that we did not meet. There is a little shop near the house and about 10 min to Lismore where you can find all you need. Fantastic holiday

  • A great holiday retreat

A fabulous house which makes living easy. Great use of louvre windows to get lovely breezes when it was hot. When we arrived there were lovely english cottage flowers in the rooms, a bottle of bubbly, and a thoughtful breakfast plate of bacon, eggs and sausages. Peter and Dale were fabulous hosts…the brochures and instructions were invaluable, and we spoke or texted several times to make sure all was well. The house is well situated to make day trips to Byron Bay, Ballina,Lismore, and many other great villages. We had 2 magpies and their babies to entertain us plus cows rabbits wallabies and a bandicoot to make you feel like you were in the country. Overall a great house, great hosts, great location and we will certainly look to doing another swap with Peter and Dale Graham and Libby

  • Beautiful home in a beautiful setting.

Dale and Peter did everything they could to make our first exchange easy and successful. We had a wonderful relaxing week. Bexhill is in very beautiful part of Australia.

  • Lovely home in an area of great natural beauty.

Peter and Dale have a lovely home set in the most beautiful countryside. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. Everything was presented beautifully and we were made to feel at home. The surrounding district is extremely picturesque with highlights of visits to Byron Bay and walks in stunning rainforest areas. A truly relaxing and interesting stay.

  • Relaxing property

We had a week of relaxing in this lovely house. The log fire kept us cosy and warm on the winter nights. The house was in a great central location for exploring all that Northern NSW has to offer and we found some great restaurants in the area as well. A lovely relaxing time was enjoyed by all. Cheers Lionel and Jenny Richards

  • A peaceful beautiful sub-tropical paradise!

Dale and Peter's 'eco-friendly' self-built home is nestled in the glorious green hinterland between Cape Byron and Lismore, and you truly have the best of both worlds in easy reach! They built it themselves and you can feel their love of the place when you first walk in the door - so 'easy' and so 'relaxing'. The climate is sub tropical and we barbecued and ate outside on alternate nights surrounded by the abundant bird-life drinking from the bird baths and listening to their chatter, before climbing in to bed and sleeping so soundly we didn't want to drag ourselves out of bed and face another day of either touring around all the windy roads and magic countryside (a bit like a warm version of Southern Ireland), going to the amazing beaches of Byron Bay, Ocean Shores and even Surfers Paradise (only 2 hours away) or exploring the mysterious Mount Warning Caldera. Numerous, excellent and reasonable restaurants and Hotels are within easy reach so every 2nd night we ate out. Thanks so much

  • Australian Hinterland at its best! Enjoy the seren

What friendly easy going people our fellow house swappers were! Their house with lots of large windows capturing both the sun and the country view was very relaxing. The Northern Rivers has so much to offer for a holiday: galleries, cute little hinterland towns, large coastal towns and you're spoilt for choice for coffee and fresh organic food in cafes and restaurants. The drives through the countryside to places like Bangalow, Byron Bay, Ballina, Lennox Heads and Murwillumbah will give visitors a good a taste of this lush countryside. Leave time to explore the Margaret Olley Gallery in Murwillumbah and lunch on the coast. This was a great opportunity to relax on a quiet, peaceful Australian acreage which is close to services. We highly recommend a stay.

  • Lovely art filled home in peaceful country setting

A spacious, comfortable home with a stunning outlook over the Corndale Valley in gorgeous Northern Rivers area of NSW. We were able to soak up the beauty of nature including the visiting wrens and finches; no sounds but birdsong and the rustling trees. We also used the home as a base to explore Byron Bay, Bangalow, Lismore, the little local villages of Clunes and Eltham as well as the beauties of the Nightcap National Park and even took in the stunning Tweed Regional Gallery on the way home. Dale and Peter were really friendly and easy to deal with.
