We are a couple with 2 boys , one who is 19 who is studying Economics in Venice and who is leaving with us and another one who is 24 who is living in his own house with his partner. We live in Mestre-Venice so the house in Oderzo is our second home. In our family we all love travelling and we have been to a lot of places around the world. Massimo works in the furniture field and I am a secondary school English teacher. We love the sea, walking, going sightseeing. We love art,, good food, good wine, going out and having fun. We often have our foreign friends staying with us and we enjoy meeting new people.

Main part of a house of the XV century right in the centre of Oderzo, a beautiful ancient town near Treviso in the region of Veneto, northern Italy. The house was renovated in 2000 keeping its original frescoes,its antique ceiling and wonderful Palladian floor. Wonderful designer and antique furniture inside.
Oderzo lies in the heart of the Venetian plain, about 50 kilometres (31 miles) to the northeast of Venice, 40 km from the coast and its famous beaches, 50 km from the best resorts in the Dolomites ( Cortina d'Ampezzo) and 35 km from the wine area of Prosecco with its hills, vineyards and wineries.
Oderzo was known in Roman times with the name of Opitergium and its centro storico, or town center, is rich with archeological ruins which give insight into its history as a notable crossroad in the Roman Empire.

From Oderzo there is plenty to do. You can visit a lot of famous historical towns like for example Venice ( 50 km), Treviso ( 45 km), Padua 47 km; you can go to the hills of Prosecco and visit the wineries; you can reach the beaches ( Jesolo, Caorle Lignano ) in only 30 minutes; you can go to the Dolomites , the best mountains in Europe, and the famous ski resort of Cortina is only 1 hour and 30 minutes drive.
There are also several possibilities of excursions both cycling or walking.
