- We had a very nice time in Houten at Erwina's and Nico's place. We did a lot of cycling and really loved it! It's so much better to cycle in the netherlands than in Austria. We hope one day it will be the same in our country! Erwina and Nico have many nice board games which we played a lot with our daughter. We had lovely trips to Rotterdam, Leiden, Zeist and of course Utrecht - what a special city! We enjoyed Holland a lot - thank you for your hospitality, Erwina and Nico!

We are a couple in the sixties; love nature and birdwatching .We enjoy our children and grandchildren.Have many home- exchange experiences; started again a couple of years ago.
Unfortunately we are not yet retired but we love exchanging homes. It has become a hobby.

We can offer you a practical and comfortable place to stay in the centre of The Netherlands, nearby the very old city of Utrecht with lots of culture, monuments and cosy terraces and restaurants.
The centers of Amsterdam, Leiden and The Hague are very easy and fast to reach by train; So is Schiphol , the main airport.
We have a lovely small garden in which you can enjoy the sun or the birds visiting.
Our house has two sleeping rooms; the main sleeping room with a double bed and the attic room with a double sofa bed. Plus there is an other sofa bed in the study and some small children beds.There is a bath and a shower

Houten is the number one cycle town of 2018. All locations are very easy to reach by bike or walking.Houten has a small beach.The centers of Utrecht, Amsterdam, Leiden and The Hague are very easy and fast to reach by car\train; So is Schiphol , the main airport.
You can also go for a bike adventure ; there is a large bike network ; we have 4 bikes , you can use, with an electric one.
Holland has lots to offer! We will leave you maps and tourist information so you will be surprised of our beautiful country.

From our house is a short walk to a small shop center where you can buy your daily food. A ten minutes walk , a train takes you in 9-10 minutes to the center of Utrecht; one of the oldest cities of Holland(www.holland.com.destinations);Called:"a romantic city with mediaeval canals and countless restaurants and shopping streets".
From Utrecht , Amsterdam is easy to reach, within less than half an hour. Historical Amsterdam with his Rijks museum ( with Rembrandt's Nigtwatch), Anne Frank museum and van Vincent van Gogh museum.
