This exchange gave us a chance to discover North Yorkshire where we enjoyed long walks along the Cliffs and on the nearby beaches, we visited abbeys and castles filled with history and loved York best visited by train to avoid busy road and parking issues.. The area is also ideal to discover quaint villages with excellent pub food and...good beer. The long drive (2.5 hours) from Manchester to the house was worth the drive as the house is peaceful and comfortable. Negotiating the driving through villages was most 'interesting'.

Thank you for letting us stay in your lovely home. We felt the "cosyness" right away. The calm surroundings, and the welcoming neighbourhood. We even got invited to the local family fete. We enjoyed York and especially the old town. And we had several sunny days to enjoy the beaches in Filey. Whitby, and Robin Hood bay is worth a visit.
