Comfortable and cosy two bedroom cottage with garden in a small rural village, yet close to Cardiff, with great attractions nearby.
Wood burning stove in living room, a separate dining room, and it has a spacious feel. New bathroom with shower.
NB one double bed is in a cosy stargazing nook, (that you climb into) so please bear this in mind! Single futon bed (sofa) in that room too. Folding double bed in dining room for extra guests, as well as singles possible. Non simultaneous exchange possible, as this is a holiday home.
Washer/dryer, fridge & freezer, well equipped kitchen. (No dishwasher) Central heating.

Groesfaen is a lovely small rural village, yet only 8 miles from Cardiff. Has a great village pub with good food, and a cute farm shop in village. A large shopping centre (Talbot Green) is a 7 minutes drive away (with food & clothes shopping, cafes, etc). Easy to reach from M4.
Nice walks from village. Nearby are the Miskin Arms (a great gastro pub), and The Miskin Manor, De Courcey's Manor and the Vale Hotel for a little bit of luxury (meals, drinks or afternoon tea). Public transport to Cardiff on frequent 122 bus, but a car means you will see much more.
St Fagans Museum, a great place with old buildings from all over Wales, is a pleasant 10 minute drive away through countryside. (Free entry, £5 to park).

Cardiff with all its attractions is an easy 15 minute drive away. St Fagans Museum - a must see - is 10 minutes away. More rural pursuits include Horse Riding on the beach in Ogmore By The Sea (www.rideonthebeach.co.uk) or the Big Pit National Coal Museum is a 50 minute car journey. All such museums in Wales are free. There is a large shopping centre 8 minutes away in Talbot Green, a well known department store (Leekes), and the Royal Mint in Llantrisant, close by, is now open for (paid) guided tours. Two beautiful castles are nearby - the folly Castell Coch in Tongwynlais, (16 minutes by car) and the huge Caerphilly Castle (20 minutes away). Beautiful beaches nearby include Southerndown, Ogmore by the Sea, Monk Nash, and also Porthcawl.

We like old comfy homes, but are happy to stay anywhere. Happy to care for cats or other animals, we are animal lovers.
You may bring well behaved pets! (Garden is enclosed) No party groups, we prefer quieter family groups or couples please.
If we damage anything in your home we will replace it, we just expect the same in return. If bringing children, take care with velux window in 2nd bedroom, we have a lock for it & please use at all times if children are staying. No candles for safety.
