We are a professional couple in our mid 50's.
We love exploring new places and getting to know new people.
Looking for someone in Hamilton to exchange homes with between Christmas 2022 and New Year so as to be close to family.
Both our two children are studying in Wellington so would love to find a Wellingtonian who has reason to visit Tauranga - so we could exchange (non simultaneous works for us).
Also looking for exchange to Switzerland for 2023 :)

Comfortable, generously sized, two story home.
Looking for exchange to Switzerland in July or August or September 2023, or a long term e.g. a full 12 month period.
This architecturally designed, sunny, home is located only 10 minutes to the center of the Tauranga. It is located in a quiet and well regarded neighborhood 100m from the water. It is a short 20 minute drive to one of the nicest beaches in New Zealand, Mount Maunganui. It is only about 100m from the harbour where one can explore or kayak. The nearest bus stop is only a few hundred meters away.

The neighborhood of Matua is one of the earliest areas settled in Tauranga. Being relatively close to the water houses are very sought after. As Matua is on a peninsula tit is relatively quiet. There is a shared walkway / bike path, which runs largely along the edge of the harbour, going most of the way into the city. There is a strong sense of community among the residents of this short, no-exit street, many of whom are fully or semi retired, with a few younger families present.

Mount Maunganui (one of the nicest beaches in NZ) is only about 15-20 minutes from my home. The area is named after a small 'mountain' "The Mount" which has a beautiful walk around the base and also to the top. Papamoa Beach is only about 20-25 minutes from here and also regarded as one of the top beaches. Tauranga is a good base to explore some of the North Island. Places like the Coromandel (including Hot water beach), Rotorua (with world class mountain biking through the Redwood forests, and pristine lakes), Hamilton, and Ohope are all an easy drive away. Hobbiton is also less than an hour away.
Within walking distance is Fergusson Park, a large park next to the harbour with a playground and safe swimming for small children at high tide. Use our e-bikes to bike into town on bike paths along the edge of the harbour.
