We are a professional couple, who moved in 2016 from our Auckland home of 36 years to a 3-acre slice of paradise in the Ngongotaha Valley, just 10 minutes north of Rotorua. We have six children who have all left home. I am a retired Professor of Arts and Language Education and Millie works as a lecturer in Music Education in the School of Music at the University of Auckland.

We had a wonderful holiday in a beautiful rural setting. The homestead enabled us to have plenty of space to spread out and unwind. An extensive library was another treat to look forward to each evening. The car exchange enabled us to experience Rotorua's lake, gardens, walking tracks and the cafe scene. This is a large bungalow on a landscaped 3-acre section in a quiet rural setting 10 minutes north of Rotorua. The house has three bedrooms and is a single-level dwelling. There is a large workshop and garage attached to the house via a walkway.

The Ngongotaha Valley is a small community of farms and life-style blocks. It is 10 minutes from Rotorua, New Zealand's premium tourist destination, famous for its Maori culture, thermal attractions, wild life and outdoor pursuits. It is within easy driving distance of Bay or Plenty beaches (such as Mount Maunganui) and the Central North Island skifields.

From our house it is a short drive to such Rotorua attractions as Canopy Tours (high recommended by Trip Advisor as the top North Island tourist attraction) and Wingspan. The attractions of Rotorua are too many to list. Needless to say, there is something in Rotorua for everyone.
