We are a family of six. I was an educational book publisher, but have just retrained as a secondary school teacher and my husband Guy is a furniture maker, so we do education, books and wood! We have 4 teenagers/adult children, Joe 23, Lara 21 and twins Georgia and Freya who are 15. Everyone is at school or university. We all love music and sports. When we aren't at work we relax in Chiswick with friends either at home or in the many local pubs and restaurants. We are relaxed and have an attractive but laid back home, perfect for families with children or older people.

The house was lovely & spacious and the residential surrounds very charming, pretty... we had a continental feeling with corner restaurants, pubs and shops to visit... we were in London visiting family in another area, so unfortunately did not have time to visit the nearby river and enjoy the other attractions which are so accessible and in walking distance from Elizabeth and family's home!

Evimiz

Degisim için önerdigimiz ev hakkinda

We have a four-bedroom terraced house in a quiet, tree-lined street in an attractive part of West London. We are 7 minutes walk from the river Thames. Our house is a typical Victorian London terrace but we have extended it as we are a large family. Downstairs there is a comfortable reception room to read, watch TV or listen to music and a spacious new kitchen/dining room. The kitchen table seats eight people and there is a sofa, seating, computer and music facilities in the kitchen. There is also a downstairs toilet. On the first floor we have two double bedrooms and a family bathroom. On the top floor we have two more double bedrooms, as well as a shower room. The house therefore sleeps eight people comfortably. The back garden is surrounded by a 2.5m wall and fences, so it is private and peaceful. There is a patio with a table and six garden chairs. Beyond the garden wall is the local church, which makes the garden feel secluded and private.

Chiswick is a stylish inner London suburb, with lots of actors, musicians and TV people. It is stylish but family friendly and our home is in a lovely part of Chiswick. Our street is quiet and tree-lined, home to friendly families. The adjoining street has a family-friendly bar and cafe serving burgers, pizza and simple meals, as well as a supermarket, laundry, Indian and Thai restaurants and a fish and chip shop. The neighbourhood is quiet, safe and peaceful, children ride their bikes along the wide pavement in front of the shops. However, there is also a lot too do and great facilities.
Our part of Chiswick is called Grove Park and sits alongside the Thames. We are a 7 minute walk from the traditional riverside pubs where you can have a drink and feed the ducks, geese and swans. Its also 6 minute walk from Chiswick House and park. Chiswick House is a neo-Palladian villa regarded as one of the finest in England. It is set in beautiful gardens which are free to the public. There is an ornamental lake, landscaped gardens and a cafe. The painter Hogath's home is nearby, and is an interesting museum, whilst Fuller's Brewery, London's largest and oldest brewery, is also walking distance away and is open for tours. From our neighbourhood its a 15 minute walk to Chiswick High Road and the shops, restaurants, cafes and tube stations. Gunnersbury tube is our nearest (12 minutes) but Chiswick Park or Turnham Green are only 15-20 minutes walk. All are on the District Line into Central London and the latter two are also on the Piccadilly line which is faster. Our house is also very close to Chiswick train station (10 min walk) with trains directly into Waterloo and the South Bank (25 min journey).
I have lived in London for 25 years, in lots of different neighbourhoods but Chiswick is the best, being a family-friendly neighbourhood, peaceful, green, on the river but still with great links into central London by train or tube. Come and see!

Local: From our home it is a 10 minute walk to the Thames, riverside pubs and boat rides into central London or to Hampton Court (Henry Eighth's castle). There are riverside walks and cycle paths to Richmond or Hammersmith and all the way into Central London.
We are also also 10 minutes away from Chiswick House Park with its Palladian mansion in landscaped gardens and 15 minutes' walk to William Hogath's house - the famous 18th century British artist who painted London's poor.
Close by: We are a 20 minute walk to Kew Gardens, the famous botanical gardens which contain the worlds' largest collection of living plants.
30 minute train ride: Our local station (10 minutes walk from the house) is a 30 minute train ride into Waterloo, for the South Bank, London Eye (big wheel); Shakespeare's Globe; and the Tate Modern art gallery. Cross Waterloo or Westminster bridges, for Westminster, Big Ben, Westminster Abbey or the Tate gallery, as well as for Covent Garden, West End Theatres and all of central London's attractions.
