Great summer destination as well with superb weather, warm days, bright nights, fresh air. Near swimpond, lakes, trails, quaint villages. Explore old western towns, gold mines, deep forest, sandy beaches, high Nevada desert nearby. All sports. Great walking & biking, boating, lake cruising, river rafting. 1 hr Reno NV, 2 hrs Sacramento CA, 4 hrs San Francisco CA.

Vast national forest is 1 street away, with trails for hiking/ mountain biking/ horses. A swim pond is nearby, as well as rivers for rafting or fishing. Near World class ski resorts of Alpine Meadows (1-2 miles) and Squaw Valley (4 miles), which also has rock climbing walls, ice rink, year-round sight-seeing gondola. Tahoe City and Lake Tahoe are 6 miles from house, with restaurants looking out at the lake, boats to hire, Native American museum, trout ladder, beaches. Sports mecca for the family as well as the sports enthusiast. Old western town of Virginia City (Nevada) is an hours drive, as is Reno, Nevada with Hollywood entertainment, planetarium, water-slides, museums, shopping.
