I am a retired Professor of French and my partner, a retired physician. My two adult children, ages 27 and 31, will most likely not travel with us. We are all avid hikers and yoga enthusiasts who are passionately interested in travel and exploring diverse cultures. We have had 20+ successful home exchanges in the US, Europe, and Canada.

Our very comfortable, sunlit home is located on 1/2 acre on a quiet cul-de-sac neighboring a golf course (with pools, tennis). Because Flagstaff is at an altitude of almost 7000 ft. near the San Francisco Peaks, summer temperatures remain comfortably in the 70's and 80's.
Our home is located about 70 miles from the Grand Canyon, 30 miles from Sedona and Oak Creek Canyon, close to such Indian ruins as Wupatki/Walnut Canyon, and to Lake Powell, Sunset Crater, etc.
Flagstaff is a university town (population 70,000) offering many cultural attractions of its own, particularly during summer months.
We are experienced exchangers having completed 25+ successful exchanges throughout Europe and the US.

Sunny Southwest college town home in mature, peaceful neighborhood. Grand Canyon and innumerable hiking, skiing, cycling trails make Flagstaff, Arizona a haven for those wanting to be closer to nature and outdoor grandeur. Home to Lowell Observatory and as a “dark-sky” city, spectacularly clear, starry nights. Our home is on a quiet cul-de-sac and the neighborhood is vey safe, peaceful and surrounded by trees. The golf course is a four minute walk away.

Not only are there many national parks in close proximity, Flagstaff is the perfect base for short trips to other cities in Arizona such as Sedona (40 minutes), Phoenix (2 hours), or Tucson (4 hours). It also serves as a close, by American standards, base to Santa Fe/Taos, New Mexico (5.5 hours), Las Vegas, Nevada (3.8 hours), Los Angeles (7 hours) and San Diego (7.2 hours), California. The closest beaches are in Mexico, 5.5 hours away.
Flagstaff is nestled in the largest Ponderosa pine forest in the world, offering stunning night time starry skies without parallel. In addition to its natural beauty and cultural monuments, Flagstaff is a university town where one can find many cafes, restaurants, art walks and a lively night life.
