Our lovely old beamed cottage on the cobbled high street of Staithes on Yorkshire's east coast has sea views from all rooms. It is opposite the slipway and the Cod & Lobster pub.

Our house on the High Street extends over three floors. It has a modern, well-equipped kitchen/dining room. Three steps lead into the cosy sitting room with a multi-fuel stove and

from where you can view the fishing boats sailing in and out of the harbour. It has TV, music, games and books.

On the first floor the master bedroom has a double bed and more fine views across the harbour. Bedroom two has a double bed and similar sea views. There is a shower room with electric shower on this floor.

There are steep stairs to the attic (children take care) which has a double bed and an ensuite bathroom with bath (no shower). There is an adjoining bedroom (no door) in the eaves, with a comfortable futon. Please note there is restricted roof space.

Staithes is on the route of the Cleveland Way long distance footpath and close to Robin Hood's Bay the end of the Coast to Coast walk. So a good place to rest up after a long walk.

There is no parking in the old village, but we have a garage for a small car. It takes a bit of skill getting a car in and out. You may prefer to use the car parks (up the steep hill) at the top of the village The village is largely car free so safe for children.

Staithes is only really accessible by car. We are 65 miles from Leeds where there is Leeds/Bradford airport. York has a regular train service between York and Manchester airport
