We are both 66 years old. Werner worked as a journalist for a cultural radio station in Freiburg and Gabriele has been a full time mum, raising our 3 kids. Now that they are all grown up and out of the house she has time to focus on her own interests such as arts and literature. We have been doing home swaps for more than 25 years and love to explore different lifestyles and locations. Due to the fact that we both enjoy gardening, we love to visit English houses and gardens. While being on holiday Werner loves angling, so being close to the sea is something he is always looking forward to. A swap to the countryside is just as good as a swap to a bigger city as we love to hike, but are very interested in arts and cultures. And there is dog Nelly our young small Dackel- Lady. She likes to come with us.

Degisim için önerdigimiz ev hakkinda
Our house has 3 floors and can sleep up 7 people. There is one bedroom with a double bed on the 2nd floor, another room with a single bed on the 2nd floor and one room with a double bed on the 3rd floor. We do however have another spare bed which can be put in any room and a sleeping couch in the TV. There are further rooms, mostly used for reading and working.
On the ground floor you find a well equipped kitchen, a living room with a cosy seating area and a dining table, and a TV room with a computer. There are two bathrooms, one with a shower and one with a bathtub.
Right outside the kitchen you find a covered terrace. Due to our radiant heater you can sit outside even on chilly days. The backyard is rather spacious and offers a nice view of the surrounding area. As our garden is surrounded by fields and meadows, it is safe for kids to play.

Semtimiz ve çevremiz hakkinda
We do live in a quiet neighbourhood right at the end of a village. Due to our big garden with no surrounding houses you can enjoy a lot of privacy. Families with kids have a lot of space to play outside and no neighbours to disturb. Your next neighbour will be our son Gabriel who lives with his wife in the house next door. Please feel free to ask them for help or any information you might require.

We live in a small village called Mundingen, close to Freiburg (20 Km) and located in the sunny part of southern Germany at the foot of the black forest. Cities close by are Basel (Switzerland) 70 km and Strasbourg, France 45 km.
In our village there is a bakery within walking distance. The next shops are about 2 Km away e.g. Aldi. It is possible to do the grocery shopping by public transport, but especially for families and on weekends a car would be much more convenient. If you are flying to Germany it might be possible for you to use our second car to get around.
The next town is called Emmendingen. The town offers some cafés and shops, but not too many sights. It’s a typical southern German small town. Much more exciting in regard to sightseeing and cultural events is Freiburg. It takes about 20 Minutes by car or train to get to the city centre. Located at the foothills of the black forest, the entire region is perfect for hiking and other outdoor activities.

We are open to swap all over Europe. We love to spend time close to the sea, but also enjoy staying within larger cities.
There are not a lot of rules in our home. Kids, pets and even teenagers are very welcome. We would however ask you to smoke outside and water our plants from time to time.
