I received a warm welcome when I arrived at Sephora and Philippe's home in Nice… we had time for a coffee and quick introduction to the two shy cats, Aston and Marcel, before they left for the airport. The apartment is full of colour and reminders of their many travels and I felt quite at home immediately. It is situated just behind the Notre Dame church which is on a main thoroughfare for one of the tramlines. So it is right in the centre of town and surrounded by food shops and cafes/restaurants etc and an easy walk down Rue Jean Medecin to the sea, and the ‘Old Town’ of Nice. About 15 minutes slow walk. I made use of a museum ticket for four days which was very useful and enjoyable. They also had a jazz festival during my stay in July and evening concerts were just about to start in the Notre Dame church as I was leaving.
