Degisim için önerdigimiz ev hakkinda

Hello from warm and sunny Oman.

I have lived and worked in Muscat, Oman for 15 years.
We have a comfortable, 3 bedroom town house with a residents-only pool and gardens.
There are two double bedrooms, both with king beds.
The third bedroom is used as an office and would be locked during your stay.
Bathroom 1 has an en-suite with a shower, sink and toilet and Bathroom 2 has a bath (with shower), sink and toilet.
There is a third toilet/powder room downstairs.
We have a good kitchen with all the usual: coffee maker, 5 ring gas cooker, giant fridge, washing machine, micro wave, toaster, etc.
The sitting room and dining room are open plan.
Outside we have a screened front courtyard and a gated, screened patio is at the back.
This patio opens up to the resident’s pool and gardens.
The house is cosy, bright, clean and comfortable.

Broadband Internet, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and a bucket load of channels with OSN Satellite TV (Western Channels) are available.
Naturally there are AC units in every room of the house.

The neighbours are expats and our home is in a lovely quiet area.
It does get hot here in the summer during the day; however everything, everywhere is air conditioned and when the sun goes down the nights are beautiful.

Semt

Semtimiz ve çevremiz hakkinda

The area we live in is known as Madinat Al Sultan Qaboos.
Better known by its abbreviated name of MQ.

The homes in MQ are mostly villas, with pools, gardens and other family-friendly amenities. Rentals are a little on the expensive side due to its reputation for being a great place to live.
MQ is in the heart of Muscat and is popular with expats – the British in particular, the diplomatic corps and Western workers with families.
The British Council and the excellent British School Muscat is also here for those who value ‘education, education, education’.

The area is quiet, safe and friendly. It’s a short cycle, jog or drive to the beach. The more intrepid can walk to the beach in about 30 minutes. When you get there, there are several trendy coffee places, restaurants and cafés in an area known as Shatti (located between the Hyatt and Intercon Hotels).
Close to the house you will find everything from dry cleaners, supermarket, Starbucks, a licensed Mexican restaurant called Pavo Real, KFC and Costa Coffee.
The well-known and popular Kargreen Café is also within walking distance. It's a quirky place that offers everything from hearty soups to Arabic appetisers.

Culture vultures can fill their boots at the Royal Opera House, which is down the road (10 mins by car), art galleries across the city and the many museums which we can recommend.
We are also close by to a number of larger malls and shopping centres. Shopaholics can take their pick from the Oasis Mall and the bigger Avenues Mall, Muscat Grand Mall, Quorum City Centre and Seeb City Centre.
Luxury shoppers should visit Panorama Mall.

An airport taxi to the house will cost about $25 and is a fixed price.

Eating out varies from cheap to expensive.
There are a several excellent 5 Star Hotels (Inter Continental, Hyatt, Crown Plaza etc.) where you can purchase alcohol with your meal (or visit their Pub).

Oman is a friendly country. Women do not need to cover their hair (unless visiting the Grand Mosque) or wear abayas if they don’t want to. It is, however, considered polite to cover your shoulders and knees in public. i.e. don’t wear your swimsuit to the mall.

Oman is not a 'dry' country.
Wine, spirits and beer can be bought at the airport Duty Free, upon arrival, and drinks can be purchased in Hotels, bars and some local restaurants.

Evimizde kalirken gitmek için yerler ve şeyler için ipuçlari

Here’s the thing with Oman: it has all the best of the Middle East. Whether you’re a culture lover and museums are your favourite place to be, whether you’re a diver, or if you prefer to lounge at the beach.
You can do it all here.

We are both keen outdoorsy-so forgive a little bias towards the more active pursuits.

Cycling: we have two bicycles, which you are welcome to use. Use the normal apps to find routes, but we can recommend the seafront at Shatti Al Qurum.

Diving & Snorkelling: Oman is well known for its maritime beauty. We have a number of dive-clubs who will rent equipment and organise trips. We have a number of basic dives, but we also have a number of wrecks.
Snorkelling can be done straight off a number of beaches, or you can take one of the many organised trips to the Dayminyat islands, 45 minutes off the coast. A-ma-zing.

Beaches: There are public and private beaches everywhere. You can Jet-ski, paddleboard, kitesurf, or just chill.

History & Culture: Oman has a rich and varied history, and we are incredibly fortunate to have a few fantastic historic sites in the area, as well as modern and new museams. Most noteworthy are Nizwa Fort, the National Museum, the Grand Mosque and the Royal Opera House.

Souq: One of the main attractions of Muscat is Muttrah Souq. It has been beautifully restored over the years, and an absolute must.

Nature, hiking, trekking, adventures: We have mountains, wadi’s and desert. Within 2 hours driving you have all of the above (aside from the desert): Wadi Shab, Jebel Akhdar, Jebel Shams.

Golf: there are a few golf courses around, one of which is a Greg Norman Design.

To quote a guidebook:
"Oman’s rich cultural history features traditional forts and souqs scattered across the Sultanate‚ while the natural environment offers incredible flora and fauna. Along with year-round sunshine and unsurpassed warmth and hospitality of the local people‚ it is easy to see why Oman is emerging as a globally competitive tourism destination."

Tercihlerimiz

Nelerden hoşlanırız, hoşlanmayiz, ev kurallarimiz

You can be confident that we will look after your home during our stay.
We'd like to return to a reasonably clean and tidy house.

Please do not smoke in the house or patio as this drives the cats crazy.
One room may be locked - the bedroom we currently use as an office.
