We are retired educators, Peter very active in local theatre, Elana is a writer--short fiction and memoir.
Our family all with busy professional lives and families are scattered--Vancouver, Toronto, Calgary, London UK.

Our last was an unfortunately cancelled (medical emergency) exchange to Amsterdam in 2019.
Prior to that, we have had many many wonderful exchanges to Fr, the UK, and Germany. Our first was in 1994, and every one has been a wonderful experience

Ten minute walk to the beach or, in the other direction to shops, library, restaurants and galleries. Everything you need or want is within walking distance. Bus connection to downtown is a block from the house. The city offers excellent shopping, galleries, historic sights, beautiful scenery, parks, cultural events of all kinds, and amazing food. This is a foodie paradise.
Vancouver Island is beautiful and well worth exploring: wineries, beaches, mountains, hiking, surfing. It's all here.
Vancouver is a ferry ride away. 1.5 hours on the ferry through stunning scenery then a transit link right to downtown. It's a good day trip.

Although we are retired, we have had successful exchanges with families. Depending on the circumstances, we welcome children.
Our garden has an automatic sprinkler system, but if you come in the dry summer months, there will be a couple of pots to water. Care is minimal. Please check our exchange preferences below
