Greetings! We are a retired couple, Daragh and Cate residing in Victoria, BC. We are avid sailors who have cruised to South America and beyond. We love the outdoors, hiking, biking, tennis, golf, and nature in general. We are empty nesters with one dog, grown children and six grand kids with whom we enjoy spending time. We love to travel and explore new cultures, and also spend time in our lovely home in beautiful Victoria. Please contact us if this sounds appealing!

This lovely home is situated in the quiet, beachside, wooded area of Cadboro Bay village.The home has 2 spacious bedrooms, 2 full baths, a contemporary, sunny living and dining room with gas fireplace, cozy den with gas fire and lovely garden view, nice, bright modern kitchen with gas stove and dishwasher, and laundry room. It has a large,
private garden with lush patio and garden areas. We are on a quiet cut de sac with forest trails, and a 5-10 minute walk to shops, a pub, coffee house, sandy beach
and parks. On site double parking. Immaculate!
It is a 15 minute drive or bus to the beautiful Inner Harbour of Victoria and the old town, and 5 minute walk to the University and park/grounds. On site double parking. Small pet welcome.

Our neighbourhood is very quiet, friendly and safe. We have access to a local grocer, coffee shop and pub in the village (8 minute walk) nearby as well as a lovely beach for sunbathing and a large park for walks and playground area. There are many trails in the forest close by as well. There is a bike trail going for 15 K out to the lovely town of Sidney by the Sea. A bus takes you directly in to the old downtown and the harbour in 15 minutes.

Nearby is a charming village with shops and restaurants. In town a short drive away (15 min) there is a scenic harbour front and walkways, an old downtown with many interesting shops and many eateries and fine dining, a wonderful Provincial Museum and Imax Theatre, movie and theatre venues, and many parks and hiking trails with lakes and mountain trails. Boating and watersports are prolific,(kayaks available) as well as a host of Gulf Islands and the American San Juan Islands to visit by ferry. For an urban setting Vancouver BC and Seattle USA is a two hour ferry ride away.

We are very tidy and neat, not cluttery, and hope for the same from our exchange partners. It is important to ensure that the gas is turned off on the stove and BBQ when you go out. Monitor gas fires. Entertain peacefully please. Water plants occasionally, and please leave out the recycling.(Our dog will be in daycare elsewhere)
