The house of Mirjam and Steven is very comfortable and modern. It is spacious, modern and very well equipped. Even in a rainy weekend Haarlem was worth a visit. We drove by bike to the city and found a beautiful old city centre. The Teylers' museum has an impressive collection about science but even the house on its own is worth a visit. We also visited the 'bollenvelden' and the sea side. We had a lovely weekend at Mirjam and Stevens house. Thank you very much for the well arranged home exchange.

Your home away from home is a cozy modern house centrally located in one of Haarlem’s most desirable neighbourhoods and just a short ride from the UNESCO world heritage designated Amsterdam Canals. Museums, galleries, shopping, outdoor markets and restaurants are within an easy walking hiking distance. Haarlem is a four seasons destination. In the spring enjoy the beauty of thousands of tulips and participate in the Tulip Festival at the Keukenhof from march till may. Haarlem is alive with the sound of music during the summer months. Major summer outdoor festivals include a Haarlem Jazz& More Music Festival, Zandvoort at the beach and Foodtruck Proefpark. In the fall Haarlem is ablaze with the colours of autumn to be seen in the dunes. And who can resist a Haarlem winter and the experience of ice-skating on the canals while drinking hot chocolat or a spicy gluhwein? These are truly unique Dutch experiences you will not want to miss! However, if you feel the urge to get out of town, visit Amsterdam (20 min. drive) or see the Dutch windmill at the Zaanse Schans open air museum (30 min. drive).
