We are Ton ( 72) retired management consultant) and Karin (67) communications manager at Dutch government), very expierenced home exchangers since 2006.
Having traveled a lot, we really appreciate going places and making new lovely memories form all over the globe. We have three sons, all adults and usually we travel just as a couple, if possible with our well behaved dog.

Karin and Ton's home is centrally located, and very close to the Rijksmuseum, which was one of our favourite haunts. The flat was well equipped, and I must say it was great to have a King-sized bed - not all that common in Europe. The back garden was especially nice to come home to after a day of sight-seeing - an urban oasis right in the middle of the city. We have no hesitation in recommending Karin and Ton as exchange partners; we would do it again in a heartbeat!

In the tiny and beautifully quaint village called Gelselaar, amidst the famous countryside of the Achterhoek,
we offer an amazing monumental farmhouse dated from the 1700's ,completely up to date. Large house, separate garage, splendid gardens and terrace. Only 1,5 hrs from Amsterdam by car or train. The nearby river IJssel was thriving with bustling cities long before Amsterdam was, and they are still lively, lovely and much like Amsterdam but smaller, more quiet and pleasant
.
The Achterhoek has a lot to offer and is renowned for its beauty, peace and quiet. Quaint villages, historic cities like Deventer and Zutphen, beautiful landscapes in all seasons. Plenty of restaurants, shops, museums, castles, markets etc. A world apart within 1 hour drive, a great bicycle ride or a magical walk
The house itself is comfortable and luxurious with all amenities, and situated right in the middle of the quaint little village with offering lots of privacy.
We do have three sweet cats that need little care. We also have a dog which travels with us if possible or stays at home if you agree on that.
The perfect place for walking, cycling, enjoying country life with outings to interesting cities. Amsterdam is easy accessible with both car and train, and we do offer car exchange since you absolutly need a car to get around. ( big supermarkets only 10 minutes away)
Explore and enjoy the eastern part of Holland, you will be surprised just like we were when we decided to move here! The landscape is magical in all seasons, the people are friendly and easy going. Enjoy great local food and even local made wine. Venture into Germany which is only 30 minutes away or get on a train and explore Amsterdam, just to return back to the house and all the peace and quiet of our village.

our village is very small and idyllic, it was elected Most Beautiful Village of Gelderland ( our province) in 2017. It is National Heritage too. Our historic farmhouse is a detached house, surrounded with a lovely garden, huge trees and a large terrace. There are no shops in the village, only a cafe/restaurant, a small school and church, so you definitely need a car to get around. We do offer car exchange. The immediate surroundings of the village offer a lot of walking trails, highly recommendable. The river Berkel offer possibilities for swimming, fishing and boating. Other brooks and woods nearby. It’s country life to the max.

We prefer exchanges with ( country) houses, we are not particularly interested in apartments with the exception of big interesting cities. We would like to do an exchange in France, Italy or Spain September 2023. Exchanging within the Netherlands only with comfortable houses in the countryside. We have lived in Amsterdam for over 40 years, so that one we know. Please check our exchange preferences below: non smoking inside and we do have 3 cats whom we love very much and a few chickens. They need daily care but are very easy. We also have a dog but he travels with us unless you love to take care of a well behaved medium sized dog. We would appreciate if you are willing to take care of our garden by watering the plants on the terrace etc. There is a cleaning service that comes in every two weeks.
