We are retired now but both of us were involved in culture fields. We love to travel and do travel a lot, around 3 times a year now !! We like to improvise and appreciate short stays all over Europe (7-15 days), but are able to plan longer swaps overseas.
Message aux Français : nous serions ravis de découvrir Biarritz (échange souhaité proche de la mer à pied) à toute époque de l'année et de retourner à Paris où nous avons vécu toute notre vie.

Degisim için önerdigimiz ev hakkinda
"L'Ancolie" is a 2 floors house with a fenced garden, built circa 1800, in the very heart of Pernes-les-fontaines, a small town (9 000 inhabitants ) in Vaucluse. 30 km far from Avignon, (TGV train station), 25 km from Luberon (Gordes and other stoned perched villages), 90 km far from Marseille (international airport and low cost flights).

If the house is 2 centuries old it's being renovated in 2015 when we bought it
We can ONLY swap with adults without young kids, sorry for that. But the pool is not fenced and dangerous for young ones
The 1st floor, totally independent (reachable by an exterior st aircase in the courtyard)allows non simultaneous swaps.
We can welcome you, invite you for dinner, come back earlier if we need to, sleeping upstairs without bothering you.
Each floor has, its own kitchen, a living room, a bedroom + queen size bed, a bath room and separate toilets. The ground floor has an extra guest bedroom.

Semtimiz ve çevremiz hakkinda
We live in the very heart of town, 100 meters from the tourist office, near a medical center. You'll be able to do shopping nearby on foot (useful if you have no car). Baker, butcher, newsagents are close ( a hundred yards). A market is held every Saturday morning very near. Producers markets with local products are on wednesdays afternoons from april until october. Huge supermarkets are further away. But one, bigger than mini-market, smaller than huge ones is nearby
As our house is built on a private lane, used only by pedestrians, and 3 neighbors, there is no traffic. It's very calm at night. You may use public transportation (coaches, local trains -5 km away- to reach other places of interest -such as Aix en Provence, Avignon, L'isle sur la Sorgue- around if you don't feel like renting a car.) You may rent bikes or scooters in town instead.

Pernes-les-fontaines has a few small museums, all free : on old bikes, "boutis" (hand made fabrics from Provence) . A marvellous medieval mansion with fresques.
A bigger town, Carpentras, which is 5 km distant, has 4 cinemas with a good selection of films (international and french).
Avignon is famous for its many museums, free too, its theater festival (in july) . In summer, a lot of festivals open around (piano in La Roque d'Antéron, danse in Vaison la romaine), you'll find too melon, cherry or strawberry fairs when it's the season...
Provence is known for its architecture (villages in stones like Gordes, Ménerbes, Lacoste,Goult in Luberon draw many tourists in the region). Peter Mayle's best seller was written in Ménerbes
Antic shops are numerous in L'isle sur la Sorgues, 12 km distant, second flea market after Paris. In this lovely town, you may do canoe and kayak.
The Mediterranean sea is 100 km away, but many walks can be done nearby in the country.
Biking is fashionable around the Mont Ventoux (1910m) : many shops rent bikes. The Mont Ventoux (25 km far) has often been included in "tour de France"

We do prefer to swap with people used to pools during summer as pools are rather complicate to look after when you don't know the filtration system !! Security is important : doors need to be locked during the day if you go outside (and shutters at night
We can't accept animals because we have a cat who stays at home. And a young dog (2 years 1/2) who might stay too if you are OK to take him in charge... Otherwise he may be kept
