Our residential neighborhood is called Alta Vista and is a 15-minute drive from downtown Ottawa, or a 30-minute bicycle ride. The neighborhood is not a suburb and is considered part of Ottawa, the capital of Canada. It has many parks, schools and bike paths. As a matter of fact, there is a park with free tennis, soccer and basketball courts less than 200 metres away from our house. There is also a small grocery store with an automated bank machine, coffee shop and pharmacy within walking distance, a mere 3-5 minute walk. The bus stop to hop on the bus downtown and other areas is located less than 100 metres from our home.
