Our house is a large detached bungalow with an upstairs conversion. It has three bathrooms and a visitor would have the choice of four bedrooms. Two bedrooms are upstairs with views over the garden and with a shared new bathroom. One bedroom with self contained kitchenette and en-suite is maintained as an Airbnb (but won’t be let!). One final small bedroom with two single beds. The kitchen/dining room is large and has a comfy settee and recliner chair in front of the wood burning stove. All the normal facilties for cooking are there including a dish washer. A washing machine and tunble drier are in a separate utility room. The sitting room has a TV and baby grand piano, guitar and drum kit, all of which sitters are very welcome to play.
The garden is huge. There’s a deck overlooking country fields and a patio/terrace if the weather allows for coffee outside. If a sitter wants to tend areas of the garden they are welcome to, however we would not expect it as part of their “duties”.
We are near Dunfermline, in the middle of nowhere yet only three miles from shops, supermarkets, restaurants and cafes. and leisure facilities such as swimming pool, cinema and bowling.
The Fife Coastal footpath and the Pilgrim Way are two long-distance walks "on the door step". The picturesque East Neuk of Fife is just 45 minutes drive away, and Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dundee and Perth all an easy bus journey or car drive. The immediate area of Fife itself has pretty coastal villages such as Culross (Outlander fans will know it!!) Aberdour and Limekilns, and Dunfermline is steeped in history. A little further takes you into the Highlands to the north and the Borders to the south.
