Thanks to Betty and Thierry we had a lovely time in Belgium. The relatively cold weather we had, might be a real winner in the future, as climate-change will affect the Mediterranean more and more. The really nice house including all pieces of art was a welcome retreat for all kinds of excursions. Within an hour or maximum two to drive we found so many interesting places as well as coastlines, that two weeks were almost too short to get more than a brief impression about the beauty of this lovely piece of Europe. Dear Betty & family, thank you very much for this fantastic exchange. We visited not only interesting cities like Courtrai, Gent, Bruges, Lille, Anvers and Bruxelles but also some fantastic private gardens. It was always very delightful to come back to your comfortable house and relax in your garden watching the fishes and having a belgian beer. Thank you also for the cheese, the beer, the eggs and milk and all the other tings you provided for us. This was our 4th exchange at all and it contributed to feeling relaxed with the home exchange as we are not so experienced. We appreciated very much the spotless clean house and it was a pleasure to meeting your son Aart when handing over the keys. What a friendly and handsome young man. Belgium is a nice country and the belgian people we met were all very friendly. Thank you for the great time.

Nous avons pu rayonner vers Gand,Bruges,Ypres et Bruxelles pour découvrir et savourer ce beau pays qu'est la Belgique,sa quiétude et son art de vivre. Accueillis avec gentillesse, nous avons profité agréablement des lieux. Merci à Thierry et Betty que nous aurions aimé rencontrer pour parler d'art avec eux...et d'autres sujets culturels... The house is situated in a beautiful area in the country side. Nearby you find charming little villages. 6 km.away is the bigger old city of Kortrijk. We visited Brugge and Gent, and we went to a concert with Brussels Symphoni Orchester in Brugge Konzertgebau. Wonderful experience. We were wellcomed by the two daugters and we were introduced to this amazing house. Betty and Thierry provided us with a great selection of Belgian beer, so we never will forget this tasty liquid.. And we enjoyed it. After a long drive it was a pleasure to have the cheese, ham, bread and the delicious bisquits. We were the 4 of us, and we could use the family bikes for our expeditions in the neighbourhood. We felt us warmly wecome, and would apreciate another visit in the future.

Très belle maison, située dans un cadre rural au milieu des vaches, avec un bon emplacement pour visiter les Flandres, entre 30 mn et 1h des points d'intérêt, Bruges bien sur mais aussi Gant, Tournay, et bien sur la magnifique Gant, sans oublier Lille. Nos filles ont beaucoup profité du grand trampoline mis gentiment à leur disposition. Nous avons apprécié la tranquillité associée à des visites de villes magnifiques. Le vélo est ici un vrai plaisir, car tout est aménagé pour circuler partout en sécurité. C'est une région magnifique et pour un premier échange, nous avons été comblés. Un grand merci à vous.

Thank you again for the fantastic time we have had in your beautiful house: We enjoyed the friendly contact, the tranquillity of the house full of art, the kids especially loved your garden, we all enjoyed the beautiful towns in driving distance (Kortrijk, Brugge, Gent and Antwerpen) and felt at ease back to in our/ your retreat ;-) The perfect mix for kids and grown ups! (daily amnieties are in easy reach) Thank you!

This arty, modern and very cosy house was perfect to spend a week to discover the cities situated near by : Courtrai, Gent, Brugge, Lille, etc; you need a car though to discover the region. The family, very experienced in exchanges, made all for us to feel confortable!

We really enjoyed our stay -- the house and its art collection are very interesting, its garden and fish-pond very attractive and its rural location was very relaxing. For art and architecture lovers, it is within a short drive of Lille, Brussels, Ghent and Bruges -- and when the weather was good, we used their four bikes for long, idyllic walks in the countryside and along the river. The three teenage children welcomed us at the house, and were very charming, before leaving us alone -- and flying to our house in Sicily. Recommended.
