- From our house, it is a 10 minutes walk to one of the entrences of the fantastic heather area Grenspark Kalmthouse Heide. This nature reserve is a cross-border park on the Belgian–Dutch border. It is a merger of two former parks, the Kalmthoutse Heide in Belgium and De Zoom in the Netherlands, together extending over 60 km2 and it has a huge ecological and cultural-historical value. There are many ways to enjoy the silence here. During a walk, bike ride or on horseback. Hikers can choose from no less than 25 signposted hiking trails.
- Less than 20 minutes by bike you have the main entrance of the Kalmthout heather. There you will find also a nature education center and a very interesting museum about bees.
- Less than 5 minutes by bike you will find the beautifull Arboretum Kalmthout with impressive trees and struts, many flowers, a small shop and a place where you can have a drink and have a snack. A cross the railway you find Rozantiek, a nice place to have a delicious breakfast or a simple piece of cake with coffee.
