We are retired teachers & keen golfers. We love to travel & our first exchange was a teaching exchange to Toronto, Canada, for the year of 1978. Before retirement we had a 2nd teaching exchange in West Yorkshire, England, for 2005.
Once retired, and after 2 successful 12 month exchanges, a friend suggested we might try Homelink. We liked the idea, signed up in March 2010, and have had 6 wonderful exchanges with another organised for 2017 in Germany. We are open to all offers.

A peaceful country retreat with the best all year climate, best beaches in Australia, and just a local call to heaven.
Our home is nestled among gum trees on an acre of land, just 3 minutes from town, and features 3 bedrooms, a study, large modern kitchen, 2 bathrooms, garage and double carport. The deck overlooks the inground pool and is a great place to read, sip on a coffee or enjoy breakfast while taking in the view of the gum trees and local bird life, including our resident kookaburra family.

Wauchope (pronounced War-hope, pop 7,000), is located on the Hastings River, 20 km from the tourist centre of Port Macquarie (pop 60,000), and half way between Sydney and Brisbane, with air, rail, and road links to the capital cities. A friendly country town, Wauchope has a compact shopping centre with all required services, 2 clubs, several cafes and many sporting facilities including tennis courts, bowling greens and an 18 hole golf course in the middle of town.

Timbertown - a theme park where you can experience life in the 1890s & Wauchope's logging heritage.
Billabong Koala & Wildlife Park - the Billabong Zoo, located only 10 minutes from Wauchope, is a world renowned koala breeding centre but is also home to kangaroos, wallabies, snakes, dingos, crocodiles, snow leopards, red pandas & more.
Koala Hospital - is located in Port Macquarie & attracts 25,000 visitors per year.
Hello Koala Project - the Hello Koala Sculpture Trail has 50 koala sculptures throughout Port Macquarie, Wauchope & the Hastings, a fun way to view the designs of the koalas while visiting many exciting locations in the area.
Other attractions include - mountains, waterfalls, forests, beaches, creeks, rivers, national parks, clubs & wineries; you can see wildlife such as dolphins, whales, koalas, kangaroos & birds; or hike, camp, picnic, horse ride, cycle, skydive; or play golf, tennis, bowls ... take your pick, all are found within 30 minutes drive.
