We are part of the leafy Sydney suburb of Gymea Bay, with friendly neighbours on either side in a quiet cul de sac. There are lots of native trees, and the waters of Port Hacking and the Hacking River surround us. The general ambience has a "holiday feel" with boats and lots of water very much to the fore.
We have easy access to Sydney's major attractions. There is an excellent 8 car double decker heavy rail train service which runs every 15 minutes or so from Gymea to either the CBD etc. or to Cronulla. Travel time to the CBD is around 35 to 40 minutes either by car or train. There is also a great local lifestyle within easy reach.
Gymea Bay comprises mainly quality residential stand alone homes, and very few multi unit developments have been allowed. We are actually on a peninsular with only one road in or out. This means that road traffic is relatively quiet for a Sydney suburb. There are just a few shops/restaurants about 3 blocks from the house. A local bus service runs to Gymea Village train station and the huge Westfield Shopping Complex at Miranda.
Gymea Village is just two kilometers down the road and is an attractively paved "eat street" with many choices for coffee shops, outdoor dining and everyday shopping. It has a pub and two licenced clubs as well as the train station.
