We are a semi-retired couple, having worked in Investment Banking and Engineering Project Management. Originally from England and the Netherlands we have lived in Australia since 1980 but have traveled internationally quite a lot over the years. We now live in the country approximately 150km SE of Melbourne which we visit regularly. We usually travel to Europe once a year for holiday and to visit family so are quite flexible regarding swaps with our listed properties which we also rent out for holiday lets.

Situated in the lively area of Fitzroy, just north of the Melbourne CBD, our top floor city apartment offers full reverse cycle air-conditioned accommodation comprising two bedrooms and an open plan kitchen and living area that opens to a balcony with views over the City. The main bedroom has a queen size bed and direct access to the bathroom as well as its own rear balcony; the second bedroom has two single beds. Both bedrooms have built in wardrobes and face into the complex’ internal courtyard. We use the apartment as our City retreat as we live permanently approximately 150 kms SE of Melbourne in the South Gippsland area. So it is fully equipped and has secure parking in an underground car park should you need it AND IT IS AVAILABLE FOR NON SIMULTANEOUS SWAPS MOST OF THE YEAR EXCEPT SECOND HALF JANUARY AND EARLY FEB. A MINIMUM OF THREE (3) NIGHTS. PLEASE NOTE THIS APARTMENT HAS INTERNAL STAIRS AND IS NOT SUITABLE FOR PEOPLE WITH REDUCED MOBILITY.

Fitzroy is known for its large variety of restaurants and shops as well as its proximity to the city of Melbourne. The City of Melbourne has been voted the "world's most liveable city" several times in the last ten years and is, without doubt, also the sporting, shopping and cultural centre of Australia. Whatever your passion, Melbourne is a great place to visit and no matter what time of the year you are able to go, you will always find plenty happening. From the spring horse racing carnival in November to the Australian Open Grand Slam Tennis in January and the Formula 1 Grand Prix as well as the international Food and Wine Festival in March, there is something for all tastes. Melbourne is famous worldwide for its tram system and the #11 tram stops right outside our apartment block, from where it is only a short 10 minute ride to the centre of the City.

Please leave our home in a neat and tidy state. On the day of departure, please strip the beds and put it all, together with all towels, on the floor in front of the laundry cupboard. We do have a strictly no smoking rule in the apartment. Please also make sure you clean the BBQ ready for the next guests and please dispose of all the rubbish, recyclables and any perishables in the bins on level B1 . When using the air conditioners, please ensure the windows and doors are closed and don't leave them on when going out for the day. It is best to close doors and windows when going out for the day as Melbourne is known for its sudden storms.
