WE ARE CURRENTLY UPDATING THIS SECTION HAS WE HAVE NOT EXCHANGED SINCE OUR LAST HOMELINK ONE IN 2018. WE DID HOWEVER SPEND FROM DECEMBER 2018 UNTIL FEBRUARY 2020 AT PROPERTIES OF PREVIOUS EXCHANGERS AS OUR DAUGHTER, SON IN LAW WERE WORKING IN LONDON WHERE OUR GRANDSON WAS BORN IN 2017. THEY ARE ALL IN BRISBANE PERMANENTLY NOW AND WE WOULD LIKE TO RESUME HOME EXCHANGE.
OPEN TO ANY SUGGESTION AND AREABLE TO PROVIDE REFERENCESFROM PAST EXCHANGES.
We have been travelling the world together since 1974 and on retiring in 2003 discovered Homelink. Since then we have completed almost 40 exchanges ranging from 2 weeks to 7 months, many within the UK.

The immediate surroundings were great and the area offers great opportunities for exploring: rainforests, beaches, local kangaroos and canal walks. It was also a wonderful base to revisit previous places we had been to such as Straddie and Noosa. A perfect exchange, thank you Noel and Paula x

Modern, comfortable semi detached 200 sq.m villa which we purchased off the plan and moved in on completion in March, 2020. We are one of 36 residential villas set within a gated complex. Spacious, yet low maintenance.
Downstairs: kitchen, open plan living / dining area, "European type laundry", powder room.
Upstairs: 4 bedrooms - Master with king size bed, ensuite, walk in robe, wall mounted TV; guest bedroom with queen size bed; , bed 4 configured as home office/ study; bed 3 is currently set up for our 2yo and 5y0 grandsons . Multi purpose room with lounge chairs, 65cm Samsung Smart TV .
Additional space: Double garage, outdoor undercover living area for dining with direct access to kitchen via sliding windows. Gas BBQ, small garden
Complex amenities: Pool, BBQ area. Rear gate gives direct access to marina berths and canal where you are able to walk to supermarket, restaurants and pub. ( approx 1km )

We have become good friends with a number of our immediate neighbours as we all moved in at the same time. You will find them full of ideas on how and where you can spend your holiday and no doubt will be included in our frequent gatherings by the pool and BBQ for afternoon drinks. They will of course be on hand to answer any questions on our villa and complex if needed.
Hope Island is located at the quieter northern end of the Gold Coast, yet with in easy reach of Surfers Paradise for beaches,glitz and glamour and shopping.
Less than 1km walk along the canal takes you to a recently completed large supermarket, bakery, pharmacy, medical centre , cafe, restaurants and Hope Island Tavern (pub) .
3km (2mls ) further on you will find another supermarket, pub and waterside restaurants.
Sanctuary Cove, one of our favourite spots, is only 6 kms ( 4 mls )away you will find waterside dining, bars, boutique shopping and PO. Our social neighbours are frequent visitors to Georges for happy hour and the best pizza on the Gold Coast.

There are 2 golf courses at sanctuary Cove and one at Hope Island.

3kms to Waterside restaurants, pub, supermarket etc.
5 kms to Sanctuary Cove for waterside dining , bars, boutiques shopping. Post office.
Golf courses at Sanctuary Cove ( 2 ) and Hope Island.

QUEENSLAND CLIMATE: DECEMBER TO FEBRUARY = SUMMER MARCH TO MAY = AUTUMN ( PERFECT WEATHER ) JUNE TO AUGUST =WINTER 24C TO LOW 8-9C SEPTEMBER TO NOVEMBER = SPRING (PERFECT WEATHER )
In addition to the abundance of water and beach activities on our doorstep ( our kayak is available) other activities close by include river cruises, whale watching, race course, hinterland
and rain forest walks, 5 major theme parks, world class shopping centres and boutiques, factory outlets as well as restaurants for every cuisine and budget.
Further afield Byron Bay, Sunshine Coast, Fraser Island and the southern Barrier Reef provide excellent day or overnight trips.
Brisbane city and international / domestic airport is approximately 90 mins away by direct rail link or motorway ( 60 mins). Gold Coast airport,45 mins away has budget domestic and international flights. Sydney is only an hour's flight away while Melbourne is about 2 hours.
