We are Mary and Cliffe retired former High School Teacher & Accountant, long retired and enjoying life to the full. We have completed 12 very successful exchanges to the UK and Europe over the past 15 years. Our interests include keeping fit at the gym and listening to jazz. We are seeking exchanges to Northern European cities and towns in July and/or August. This can be simultaneous or alternatively our home is available in September and October. Our daughter, Megan, will occasionally joins us for a few weeks if her schedule permits. We are courteous and respectful and will treat your home, property and belongings with the care and attention that is expected. We reply promptly to all requests.

SEEKING EXCHANGE IN JULY/AUGUST 2024.
Apartment situated on the elevated ground floor at the rear of a small block of 6, close to amenities yet calm and quiet. There are two bedrooms with queen
beds, the main bedroom has a small ensuite with shower. A combination lounge/dining area, seperate kitchen/laundry, main bathroom with seperate bath and shower and a study with single bed for occasional use, all on one level. Entertainment is via WiFi, smart TV with Netflix, Bose Wave Stereos. A collection of CD's, DVD's and books are available. The lounge opens to a balcony on two sides with a gas BBQ and outdoor furniture.The apartment was fully renovated, redecorated and refurnished prior to moving-in in October 2018. Off street parking is available on the apartment grounds. Convienietly located 2 minutes walk from local shops, cafes, restaurants and a shopping mall. Bus stops to the city centre and Northern Beaches Peninsula are 2 minutes away. A free minibus service, to and from Manly, departs every 30 minutes from the shopping mall.
Please note our home is not suitable for young children.
Our Neighbours in the apartment block are friendly, quiet, discrete and ready to assist you and will always respect your privacy. There are rules governing conduct in the complex, which are strictly enforced, to ensure the safety and tranquility of all residents.

Balgowlah is a well established, leafy suburb situated on the Northern Beaches of Sydney within easy access to the Harbour and Manly. Harbourside walks and
foreshore Parkes are 5 minutes stroll away. Our apartment is 3 minutes walk from the vibrant commercial centre of Balgowlah with many restaurants, coffee shops, and a shopping mall with supermarkets and most essential services. A free minibus to and from Manly departs every 30 minutes from the shopping centre. Public transport bus stops to Manly, Sydney City centre and the Northern beaches peninsula are a 2 minute stroll away . A ferry crosses the harbour from Manly to Circular Quay in the centre of Sydney every 20 minutes. A new shopping mall with major department stores and over 150 specialty shops and a food court is 5k away. A car is not really necessary unless travelling out of Sydney.

The world famous beach and harbour-side resort of Manly is 2.5 kms away, a 20 minutes walk via the Harbour foreshore, 4 minutes by car or 5 minutes by free
huttle bus. Manly has a splendid sandy ocean beach for surfing and two calm protected Harbourside beaches ideal for swimming. With 5 pubs, dozens of small bars, numerous cafes, restaurants and fast food outlets it caters for all tastes and budgets.
Whale watching cruises depart Manly Wharf from June to November to view these magnificent creatures migrating north offshore. The Northern Beaches peninsula has 13 ocean beaches, 10 golf courses and the yachting/boating haven of Pittwater, all within 30 kms from Balgowlah. Sydney city centre is best accessed via ferry from Manly (30 minutes) offering entertainment venues, cultural events and world standard shopping. Warringah Shopping Mall (5K) has major department stores,150 speciality and fashion shops and a large food hall.
The Main Street of Balgowlah has restaurants, cafes, takeaway food outlets, a post office, medical & dental clinics, chemist etc. No need to drive for daily shopping or eating out.
Reccomended overnight journeys: Blue Mountains (120K) stay in the village of Leura and visit the Everglade Gardens. Hunter Valley (160K) tour the vineyards and enjoy free wine tastings. Canberra (300K), the nations capital, tour the Parliament, National Gallery and War Museum.

Our home is neat, clean and tidy and we ask that it is maintained as presented, as we will do the same in your home.
Our exchange preference is for one to two months, in Europe cities or towns in the Northern summer.
