Our apartment is situated in Cologne (North Rhine Westphalia) a town nearly in the middle of Germany. Cologne is located on both sides of the Rhine, near Germany's borders with Belgium and the Netherlands. Its the fourth biggest town in Germany and one of Europe's major metropolitan areas with round about 1 Million citizens. It is a centre for media, an international trade fair location, a University City and a focal point for art and culture.

The exact location of our home is a district of Cologne called "Nippes". Its a very nice, open minded and active quarter in the North of Cologne with a lot of families living here. The location is also great because you need just a 10 minute ride by tram to the downtown of cologne. Our house is located in a nice side street of Nippes and you will find everything you need within walking distance: subway station, owner-run shops, a bank, grocery stores, bakeries, restaurants, pubs, cafes and restaurants of all sorts. In Nippes you can also relax in one of the parks that are also located nearby. Close to our home there is a street market which takes place every day and where you can buy fresh vegetables and fruits for very small money.

Cologne could be the right choice for you if you are looking either just stay into a beautiful German town and taste German lifestyle or as great starting point for a trip to other German/European cities. Cologne has an international airport (CGN) so nearly any location in Europe is easy and fast to reach.
