Trieste is the city of historic cafes: the most famous are the Caffé degli Specchi in Piazza dell'Unità d'Italia, the Caffé Tommaseo on the Rive and the Caffé San Marco bordering the synagogue, one of the largest in Europe, just a few steps from our house. There are many typical restaurants, where you can taste the dishes of the Trieste tradition that refers to Austrian cuisine.
