What an incredible experience this home is!
If we only did one exchange each year, this would be it. Nature abounds and the house itself is perfect for a beach side vacation. Not only are there kayaks, a hot tub, a fire table and an ocean side deck, the 5 star kitchen in this west coast contemporary is 5 stars. And that king sized bed with that outstanding view! Remarkable.
Comfort and Calm by the Sea
Our second stay here was a special gracious one in that we both had an interest in being at the Vancouver Island Music Festival in Courtney, which had been delayed 2 years. We were ever so grateful for this lovely home to stay in. ❤️ We enjoyed the fire table, hot tub and experiments with the new Airfryer! Kayaks a bonus! Highly recommend this exchange for not only the views but comfort and warm welcome Wendy and Pat provide.
Wendy and Pat's beach house is amazing!
This is our third time exchanging with Wendy and Pat. We love their beach home and have yet to run out of things to do between hiking, kayaking, SUPing, and simply relaxing on the ocean's edge. Wendy and Pat have always made us feel very welcome and are easy to communicate with. We are looking forward to our next exchange with them and would highly recommend experiencing their home!
This home is spectacular!
We enjoy this exchange so much that this was our third visit to Pat & Wendy's beach house. The view from this property is absolutely magical and the ocean side deck is a front row seat to eagles, seals and other natural wonders. In the summer, the garden is a spectacle all on its own and the house is a delight to enjoy. The king size bed in the master bedroom with the ocean view has the feel of a 5star ocean front resort. But what makes this exchange most special is the warm welcome and the open invitation to enjoy the house and its features as though it is our own. The kayaks got a lot of use from us this year, as did the fire table and the ocean side deck. We spent very little time indoors except to sleep and to prepare our fresh west coast meals in their exceptionally appointed kitchen. All thumbs up from us!
Beach Front Heaven
We had a wonderful stay at Wendy and Pat's beachfront house. Although the weather did not always cooperate we did manage to do some kayaking, swimming, sunbathing, hammock swinging and hiking. The out door seating (with firetable and overhead infrared heaters) was a blessingas it was oftenquite cool for outdoor "Happy Hour". We made use of the fabulous hot tub, sometimes in the morning to start the day, and other times in the evening. The heated floors in the house were fantastic! There are several very good restaurants in both Campbell River and Courtney. Good wineries and game farm close by too! All in all, we highly recommend staying at Wendy and Pat's lovely home.
Wendy's beach home is beautiful and relaxing - the sound of the ocean's waves lapping was one of my favorite parts of our holiday. The beach home is quiet and close to many day adventures, including Miracle Beach which we were able to kayak to from her home. Relaxing in the hot tub at the end of the day was also very enjoyable. We look forward to doing another exchange with the Banhams.
This home is spectacular!
This was our second exchange and already knew just how great these hosts are. The photos speak for themselves but their generosity in sharing their 'toys' such as their kayaks, paddle boards, fire table, hot tub, BBQ etc are what really made our vacation feel like an all inclusive experience. I didn't want to leave. This ocean side exchange was an amazing escape from the city and we slowed right down. Actually, I slowed down more than intended in that I took a tumble and needed medical care which was a mere 5 minutes down the road. You never know how important that is until you need it. Due to my injuries I didn't leave this property for 5 days straight and it was not a hardship!
We had a wonderful experience at Banhams beach home. The location is beautiful, the house is grand with panoramic ocean views. Lots of recreation and convienient shopping nearby. We did a salmon fishing charter from a nearby marina. We explored the nature trails parks and lakes and toured the central and north island. Priceless. Thank you Wendy and Pat.
If you are looking for a Canadian west coast experience where you feel away from it all but want to have easy access to amenities, this is a spectacular home exchange. Our hosts offered us use of their kayaks, bicycles, hot tub and were very helpful with suggestions on how we could maximize our 6 day stay. Beautiful house and great kitchen!
Wonderful home exchange in amazing Canada!
We were so lucky to spend a whole month in this extremely beautiful part of Canada. Both the downtown apartment and the house on Vancouver Island were perfect, albeit very different homes. Wendy and Pat made sure everything went fine. Would love to go back anytime!
Beautiful homes from home
This was a perfect exchange. We were lucky enough to meet Pat and Wendy here before they left and they gave us lots of tips. Both properties were lovely - Vancouver City so very central and Vancouver Island simply stunning. Lots to do in both places and we took their car up to Whistler and, as suggested, to the Okanagen area to sample the wines.. Wonderful
