Amazing Cowichan Valley - Nice Family Home (Kanada - BC - Duncan)

Vår gästbok

  • Delightful house in lovely garden.

It has been a delightful experience to spend a fortnight in the Everitts’ lovely house in Duncan. It’s comfortable and spacious and the garden is full of excitement, with rabbits, humming birds and quails and other interesting birds. As visitors from the UK we were drawn into the easy-going life of Duncan and its history, with the marvellous collection of totem poles serving as a visual reminder of First Nation culture and traditions. We were ideally placed to explore southeastern Vancouver Island and we were able to take the ferry to visit the mainland. We loved the soaring eagles, the occasional sightings of elk and deer on the roads and the friendly conversations of the local folk. If you get the opportunity: go!

  • Karen and Carls home in the Cowichan Valley ( Duncan ) was very comfortable. The large sundeck is excellent for enjoying a glass of wine and a BBQ at the end of your day ! Their home is ideally suited to explore southern Vancouver Island. Nanaimo, Victoria, Lake Cowichan, Shawnigan Lake and Maple Bay all make for easy day trips. We enjoyed them all. ( Fort Rodd Hill National Park, Fisgard Lighthouse and Hatley Castle were amazing to photograph on a beautiful day ). Great restaurants and pubs all over the southern Island. Thank you Karen, Carl & Griffin for a great week. Michael ( Whistler B.C. )

  • We had a wonderful exchange with Karen and Carl Everitt. Everything about the house and car was perfect. We had a chance to meet as families at the end of the exchange period. We feel lucky to have met those wonderful people. We wish them good luck with their other exchanges. We loved every minute of our Canada, Vancouver Island exchange. The island itself was like heaven too. Thanks for everything Karen and Carl. We are really happy to have met you and spent time in your house.

  • Dies war unser erster Haustausch und eine wunderbare Erfahrung in Karls, Karens und Griffins tollem Haus. Es hat uns so gut gefallen, wir würden es sofort wieder tun. • Lovely house and great island

Carl and Karen's house is as described, spacious and in a very nice quiet and green area. Duncan is a great base to explore Vancouver Island - one big national park. The house is well appointed and cozy. We enjoyed many evenings on the outside deck. Thank you for a very nice exchange.

  • Location offered us a great base from which to exp

I am a little late in making this Guest Book entry, so my recollection is a bit fuzzy. I do remember that the house was located in a nice neighborhood, and was clean and well maintained. I also remember being able to walk out their front door and easily access a nice walking path through a semi-wooded area. What I remember most is that the home was well located to explore the southern end of Vancouver Island. This is not easy to do, because there are few main roads on the island. The Duncan location was right on the main north-south highway, not too far from Victoria, and allowing us to easily access the beautiful Pacific Rim National Park on Vancouver Island's rugged west coast. In addition to leaving us a clean house, when we returned to our home, Karen and Carl had left it spotless, as if no one had been there.
