Queenstown Semi-rural Retreat (Nya Zeeland - Otago - Queenstown)

Vår gästbok

  • One of the best exchanges we have had.

Greg and Janette have a lovely home in a quiet and scenic part of Queenstown. We managed to sightsee on all 10 days of our stay and still could have spent more time. We would repeat this exchange. Thanks again Greg and Janette.

  • Extraordinary vegetable garden

The vegetable garden is extraordinary. Greg and Janette let us pick up the numerous and various fruits and vegetables they grow with a kind of incredible professionalism. What a delight! The notice for using the house and traveling around also was just perfect (maps etc...). Greg and Janette are very very very kind people. We hope to see them again one day.

  • I believe we have become good friends!

The whole exchange experience with the Thompson's was excellent. They have a beautiful home in a lovely neighborhood. Queenstown is an amazing city with so much beauty surrounding it. We took several very scenic drives into surrounding areas and enjoyed breathtaking scenery and became acquainted with local history. Too bad we ran out of time, but alas we shall return and enjoy this area again soon! We enjoyed a private home exchange in Queenstown, and we got to meet our hosts a few days later in Invercargil NZ. Greg and Janette are such nice and fun people. Could not ask for better hosts. I believe we became quite good friends when they redeemed the exchange and stayed with is in our home. We ran into some medical issues which prevented us from leaving home so Thompson's graciously shared our home with us while in Peachland. That was very much appreciated and we really enjoyed their company. In order to give them as close to a private exchange as possible we stayed in our travel trailer in the driveway but slept in a spare bedroom in the house. We let Greg and Janette have the main floor of the home to themselves. I believe we all really enjoyed this arrangement and Thompson's seemed become very fond of our dog Rex. A priceless good experience for us! PS Greg is an excellent guide and a very good communicator via email and HomeLink messaging. Very organized!

  • Perfect place to explore Queenstown

Greg and Janette's home is just outside Queenstown, near the airport, and within walking distance of the Shotover River. Their home is warm and comfortable and in the perfect position to explore both Queenstown and the spectacular surrounding areas. There are lots of walk trails and we especially enjoyed the towns of Arrowtown, with it's beautiful river walk, Wanaka and Glenorchy. The walking trail around Moke Lake deserves a special mention. Thanks again, Greg and Janette for enabling our special time in your home.

  • Lovely house in a great location...

...Right on the edge of Queenstown/Frankton with stunning views over the Coronet Range. The bungalow is big, comfortable and has all the facilities you might want. The scenery in the area is some of the best in the world with varied mountains, lakes and gardens. There's great food and wine in both town and surrounds...overall so much to do, visit and enjoy. I wish we'd had longer! It was good to meet up with our friendly and helpful swappers both in the UK & NZ. And of course, our house was well looked after.

  • We had a great stay in this very comfortable home, with amazing views towards the Coronet Peak and surrounding mountains. With the Shotover River so close, we enjoyed many peaceful walks along its banks; and it was easy to reach Queenstown CBD, Arrowtown and to explore further afield. The days were bright and fresh during our winter stay, and we loved returning home as darkness fell. Being able to see the Milky Way in the night sky was wonderful. Thank you, Janette and Greg, for your kindness. A lovely stay, and really memorable trip.
