  • Lovely house and lovely surroundings

We enjoyed 4 nights at this fabulous house. Perfect for our visit to Scotland. Great base to explore and very cosy. Shower was wonderful and the big kitchen reminded me of our old farmhouse kitchen, although with a modern touch. Highly recommend to anyone and hope to stay again in the future.

  • We feel at home! Wonderful swap.

Thanks for this exchange. Communication with the owners was very fluid. The house was very comfortable and nice. Communication with public transport with glasow, edinburgh, etc. It was very easy. In short, we recommend an exchange with them.

  • Comfortable home in a great location!

My friends and I enjoyed our stay in the Mathie’s lovely home, it was very comfortable and well located in Glasgow. Cindy and I exchanged numerous messages on what’s app before and during our exchange, and I looked forward to seeing photos of all their adventures on Facebook. They are a lovely family that I would invite back again!

  • We had the most wonderful stay in the home of Cindy and Douglas. Their house is beautiful and cozy and everything was perfectly taken care of. We felt very welcome and got loads of information about everything we needed to know, both in the house, the neighbourhood and the surroundings. The house is well situated regarding public transport and there are plenty of restaurants and grocery stores within walking distance. The neighbourhood is very nice and the park opposite the street is a real treat. We were very happy with our exchange.

  • A lovely family home in a fascinating city.

This was a repeat exchange for us and we loved it just as much. We feel very much at home in the Mathie's house and we're getting a sense of the children growing up which is lovely. We hope to meet up should we decide to swap again. As an ex-pat Scot, I miss proper Scottish morning rolls and Cindy had organised some for us along with her outstandingly good tablet (a bit like fudge but more granular and melt in the mouth). She'd also left haggis, mashed neeps and potatoes which we thought was above the call of duty. Glasgow is an amazing city with interests to meet everyone's taste. It's also easy to get out of the city by car or public transport and Cindy and Douglas left really useful information. On a quiet day, walk around the beautiful park opposite the house and eat in a local cafe or restaurant. We love the Cafe Circa which has been family owned for several generations. Our own home was just as we'd left it. This is a very thoughtful and nice family and we happily recommend them as exchangers.

  • Nice trip to Scotland

Thanks for this nice exchange. We were delighted to visit Scotland. Cathie and Douglas's house is lovely and very well located. Everything was perfect.

  • We loved this exchange house which was clearly a happy, comfortable family home which met all our expectations. It faced a lovely park whilst offering easy access to the city. Glasgow is a,wonderful city. Not everyone knows most of the museums have free admission and a really good transport network. It was also helpful that Cindy and Douglas had left clear instructions on how to get around, both in the city and to other areas of Scotland. We tended to stay fairly local as we'd lived on the east coast of Scotland for many years but hadn't explored Glasgow. We did visit the wonderful Kelpies though (do Google for further info) and visited my grandparents' home in Gourock from which we caught a ferry to Dunoon. Our strongest recommendation would be Kelvingrove Museum and Art Gallery which is just wonderful and has something to offer the whole family. The Riverside Museum which is essentially a transport museum and The People's Palace which outlines the cultural history of the city are both fascinating. Just as well we like museums as it did rain rather a lot. Nice to return to a welcoming house though. We crammed in as much as possible and really didn't want to leave so we're now planning a repeat exchange with Cindy, Douglas, Dotty and Alistair next year.

  • Scotland all the way!

Thanks for all your hospitality in your lovely home! We had such a blast in Scotland and being able to share time with you was a definite highlight. Look forward to keeping our friendship going. Jason, Patricia and Isaac
