• Lovely home in rural location

  We loved your home Nancy and Didier and were so sorry we had to cut our exchange short due to my brother in law's illness. We certainly learned some new medical french! You have a beautiful home and we enjoyed tending to the hens (so many eggs!) two sheep and two goats. Your garden is a wonder and beautifully maintained. We managed a few visits to the local town and excellent local War and Peace Museum. Many thanks for your understanding in helping us deal with our medical emergency. We hope to return to this part of France again soon. best wishes, Peter, Susan and Ian.

  Maison très spacieuse à 4 km de la ville de Rethel, où s'arrête le tgv qui vous emmène à Paris en un peu plus d'une heure. Bien situé pour des excursions à Charleville-Mézières, Reims, Epernay (route du champagne), Asfeld (summum) etc. Possibilité de faire du vélo le long de la toute nouvelle "voie verte". Joli jardin avec de savoureux légumes gratuits. Hautement recommandé.

• Magnificent garden, spacious house and warm welcom

  We had a very pleasant stay in Barby! We felt very welcome by arrival: welcome gifts, nice meal, lots of toys for the kids, ready-to-use beds, ... You really feel the family has a lot of experience in exchanging houses and is still very passionate about it. Barby is a small village located in the less touristic Ardennes region. We very much enjoyed the peace and quiet, but also explored the region: Sedan, charlesvilles-mezieres, beautiful nature walks near signy-l'abbaye, local brocantes, ... The house itself is very spacious and comfortable. The garden is superb (vegetables, pool, landscape) and the hens and goats were an attraction for our kids.
