Erika is a retired Micobiologist who worked in the genomics field and Mayumi is a retired Business Manager who worked in the software industry. We are active people and like to tour on bicycles, hike, backpack, and cross country and downhill ski.

Our home is a small one bed room floating home conveniently located in the San Francisco Bay Area. It’s a 20 minute ferry ride to San Francisco and a great jumping off point to explore Napa, Yosemite, Monterey, and the Tahoe region. The home is two story and was recently renovated. Upstairs is a large bedroom with a half bathroom. The first floor contains the kitchen, small family room, and full bathroom. Our home is small and cozy and we live in a friendly marina with 42 floating homes.

We live in close quarters to our neighbors in a close knit marina with 42 floating homes. It’s very common to bump into neighbors and talk for 15 minutes before going on your way. The doors to the marina are locked and there is a walking path along the shore right outside the security gates. There are shops and restaurants a five minute walk away and the ferry to San Francisco is a 7 minute drive.

Alameda is an ideal jumping off point to discover San Francisco, Yosemite, Marin, Carmel/Monterey, and the great San Francisco Bay Area. Alameda is a small town and is an island. There are many multi cultural restaurants, coffee shops, a nice beach (bay side so no big waves), and there is a walking path right outside the gates of the marina.
