The home is spacious and very comfortable. Internet in free access to exchange with our hosts who were in France, which allowed us to exchange, joke and brief to appreciate and become friends. A special mention for Barbara, friend of the family, who received us at Anaplolis and guided in our steps. House in the country side by river and bay. La maison est superbe, très grande, très spacieuse et décorée avec un goût très fin. Elle est remarquablement équipée pour tout ce qui concerne le confort moderne. Le voisinage est charmant, les amis d’Alex et Deb très disponibles. L’environnement est très calme et très arboré, à deux pas d’une crique très jolie où Alex a deux kayaks. Un centre commercial à moins d’un kilomètre offre tout ce qui est nécessaire (le stock de produits d’entretien laissé par les propriétaires est suffisant pour une année au moins). Grâce à la voiture, tous les sites à visiter sont très facilement joignables, on est ici au cœur de la révolution américaine et de la guerre de sécession, au cœur du pouvoir américain et de ses attaches européennes, ajoutez les musées et les activités sportives et vous ne serez jamais en capacité d’épuiser les ressources de cette villégiature. Nos deux hôtes se sont montrés très attentifs à notre confort et ont déployé autant de marques d’amitié que si nous faisions partie de leurs amis de toujours. Cette attention ajoute le détail qui fait les séjours inoubliables.

Our exchange was for three and a half weeks and we still had other options to visit at the end of the holiday. Apart from the many attractions of Washington, DC, this is a good location to visit the nearby quaint, historic town of Annapolis with the U.S. Naval Academy, with longer trips to Philadelphia, Baltimore, Gettysburg and Williamsburg. When we wanted a quiet day, we could enjoy the residents' private beach, a short walk from the house, located on the beautiful River Severn - or just sit on the deck, where the unique location of the house gives the impression of being in a large treehouse. Alex and Deb were very friendly and answered all our queries very promptly; the house was comfortable, spacious and well equipped, we immediately felt at home.
