Kim has a beautiful and very comfortable home, with a nice garden at the back. We enjoyed sitting in the cosy kitchen with a nice cup of coffee in the morning, whilst breakfasting and discussing our plans for the day. The house has this warm feeling, due to the comfortable furniture and warm tones of decoration throughout the house. And we had Kira, the lovely housecat to keep us company. Kim was also a perfect host. He provided us with plenty of information about his house and the surrounding area. He was always happy to have a chat with us on the phone. The region he lives in, is just gorgeous! Wooded hills, grassy green valleys and old villages all around. The city of Stroud, charmed us from the moment we arrived. Stroud has an 'open and relaxed air'. People were very welcoming and ready with advice and help. We had great meals at the Stroud Brewery and enjoyed the vibe the place gave us. Stroud Brewery not only offers wonderful drinks, but is also a social bonding place, where a lot of community oriented activities take place (free podium for amateur musicians, boardgames evening). We were drawn to it and visited it almost every day of our stay. We enjoyed the Cotswolds by bike: steep climbs, but with rewarding views of the countryside and lovely villages filled with creamcoloured houses. Our most beautiful moment during our stay was our visit to Glouchester Cathedral, where we attended evensong. A real goosebumps moment - listening to heavenly music and musing on how many people before us, during centuries have been enjoying the same music and angelic song as we are doing now. Kim, many thanks for this magnificent experience, we do hope you also had a good stay. Steven
