We felt very much at home
The apartment was great, and we enjoyed our stay very much. The apartment is located in a beautiful part of Mannheim with easy access to the Rhine River and the city, and is a good base for excursions in the surrounding area.

Beskrivning av hemmet vi erbjuda att byta bort
Our Maisonette-apartment, third floor, has 5 rooms, a balcony, a piano and a nice view on our quarter. With its two bathrooms (one on every floor) and its large dining room it’s suitable for families with kids. We have 4 beds (2x2, 1x0,90, 1x0,90, 1,40x0,70). One of our highlights is our home cinema with an excellent sound (dolby surround) and a projector. Our home is located in a calm area in Mannheim, 15 minutes by bus, tram or car away from the center. Mannheim not only has a big shopping mile but also a castle, famous museums and an opera with a theatre. Nearby our apartment there is the Rhine and a nature reserve (Reiss-Insel) where you can do a lot of sport activities like golf, swimming (lake), horse riding, canoe, surfing (side arms of the Rhine), tennis, soccer and others. From Mannheim you can easily reach many other interesting places like Heidelberg, Stuttgart and Karlsruhe. Mannheim is well connected to the train (lot of ICE connections) and plane (30 min to Frankfurt Main).

Beskrivning av vårt grannskap och omgivning
We are living in a house with six parties. Next to a young couple and a single man there are three older women who are fond of children. Our direct neighbor is very friendly, helpful and interested in arts and music. In our courtyard there’s place for bicycles. For cars there are enough parking places in our street. Very close you have many shops like a pharmacy, a bank, two supermarkets, a burger king and a baker. Just some minutes away from our home you can find some playgrounds, a sports ground and a swimming lake. In 30 minutes walk you can reach the border of the Rhine. If you want to go to Mannheim city or the main station it takes 15 minutes by bus or tram.

Våra tips om platser att gå och saker att göra när du bor i vårt hem
In the summer, you can go to the the swimming lake called Stollenwörthweiher. Nearby you can find a tennis court and also an ice cream parlor. You need 30 minutes to walk to the border of the Rhine where you can go for a walk and take a break in one of the following cafes: Rheinterrassen or Strandbad-Café. There is also an indoor-play ground for children called Mannkidu. Not far away from our home there is the planetarium, the technology museum and a wonderful park called Luisenpark with beautiful flower beds where you can take a gondola tour, eat in different restaurants, have a barbecue in summer, have a look on many animals and where you have the choice of different play grounds. The Lusienpark is really a highlight for young and old people.

Es ist uns wichtig, dass der Hausflur und unsere Wohnung sauber und ordentlich bleiben. Die Straßenschuhe sollten nicht im Hausflur stehen, sondern in der Wohnung im Schuhregal. Außerdem sollte die Wohnungstür bei Verlassen immer abgeschlossen werden (auch das obere Schloss). Die Bäder sollten gut gelüftet werden. Es wäre schön, wenn unsere Haustauschpartner auch unsere Zimmerpflanzen gießen könnten.
