Whitstable is a popular small seaside town on the coast of Kent. It is not over developed and is famous for its independent shops and food especially oysters. The pebble beach is great for swimming and the kids will enjoy that as well as crabbing which is a must. There are waterspouts schools in the holidays and lots of great pubs, as well as bowling alley, swimming pool and a cinema in nearby Herne Bay.
Whitstable also is great base for visiting the rest of Kent including Broadstairs, Deal, Canterbury and Margate.
The train only take 1.25 hours direct from St Pancras and the car around 1 hr 45 mins from London.
The fact is called Vine Cottage due to its large Vine and has one double bed , a sofa bed and an inflatable bed to accommodate 2 guests in the lounge.
