Fethard-on-Sea is a small village on the Hook Peninsula with a few hundred inhabitants. It is a nice quiet relaxing area near the sea. The nearest sandy beach – Grange beach - is 10 minutes walk away. The village has restaurants/coffee shops, several pubs, a post office, a small supermarket, pharmacy, hair salon and a childrens' playground. There are several craft shops in the locality, a diving centre, horse-riding centre and a golf course.

In October/ November the Opera Festival is held in Wexford town.
Kilmore Quay is a world renowned location for Birdwatching. There are three main areas; Tacumshin lake, Wexford mudflats and the Saltee islands which are all within easy reach.

The Hook Peninsula is an unspoilt and scenic area with a rocky coastline, sandy beaches and pretty fishing villages. The area is steeped in history with many heritage sites, castles and abbeys including Tintern Abbey, Dunbrody Abbey, Loftus Hall, Duncannon Fort etc. The Hook Lighthouse, one of the oldest operational lighthouses in Europe, is at the tip of the peninsula.
