Father of 5 children (4 same as Lieke, but 1 more son living in the Netherlands). Grandfather of 2 beautiful granddaughters.
Works at Brussels airport and in spare time : ART-painter, poet and father!
Likes working on our house, traveling with the kids, reading, art, politics, painting, museums, talk about art...
KIDS :
Nina (1995) doesn't live at home anymore.
Arne (2001) loves computers, boardgames and reading. He learns a little French and speaks English.
Bavo (2003) is our sporty boy. He is on competition gymnastics and trains about 24 hours a week. He speaks English.
Enea (2006) speaks all languages with her eyes ;-) She loves music: piano, trumpet, singing. But she adores chocolates and vanilla or strawberry ice-cream even more :-D

A nice house with big garden in the geographical middle of Flanders.
We live in a very quiet street at a crosspoint of beautiful cycling routes.
If you like the forest, you are lucky, because Buggenhout forest is 5 minutes from here.
The house has a nice living room, working place, kitchen, bathroom and 3 bedrooms with double beds, garages, stables,... We also have a small room with a little bed for baby or toddler.
All is situated on ground floor, so also possible for disabled or elder people.
The garden is very large, with animals (sheep, chickens). It would be great if you could feed them, but we can ask friends to do it if this is a problem for you. If you like gardening, you can. Fruit en vegetables can be taken in the garden in summer time.
If wanted, you can use our bikes.
The children (18, 16, 12) sometimes travel with us, but we also like to travel just the 2 of us.

Buggenhout is the geographical middle of Flanders. We live 5 minutes walk from the railway station. By car you can reach all major cities of Flanders within 1 hour.
The well known forest: Buggenhout bos, is only 5 minutes by bike from our house. Cycling routes are beautiful here (forests, river, fields).
Although Buggenhout is a cosy village, it is also close to bigger cities like Dendermonde. In the area you can find a lot of great restaurants.

We are experienced house exchangers and like to have clear conversations in advance. We can cook for each other the first day of arrival, bed sheets and towels can be used, etc. We like to have everything cleared out by mail in advance.
The children are here half time, but if they don't travel with us, they can stay with their father. Your children are welcome too.
We are musicians and have a lot of instruments. If you travel with children, we prefer to put them aside for safety reasons.
